Since Ryan Walkinshaw has already stated that WAU won't run Commodores next year and can only get a replacement manufacturer after Gen 3 rules are announced, preferably two months ago, it appears that WAU will be closing at the end of this year., unless they run Mustang.

Probably not, but Ryan isn't the majority owner. Judge his statements by whatever credibility you assign to him.

If WAU closes, he will have more time to work on a business plan for GMSV when he is visiting Australia.

Stupid tablet wont let me post the article from Caradvice, but All development on the rhd Corvette has stopped! GM has announced that all engineering development has ceased and that includes the rhd Corvette.
No decision has been made yet, but a rhd Corvette may not happen at all as it's a very very low priority.
If Walkinsaws want one they will have to do it themselves and that would take it from 120-140K to well over 200K!


Even at $200K it looks a bargain (not that I'm in the Supercar market).

Looks like they'll focus on the big haulers first - Silverado and Tahoe - not a bad idea as they don't have any competition here in Aus. Apart from the Walky converted Rams.

for a race car it wouldn't be much of an issue.

but as a road car it is for safety, esp with overtaking on single lane roads

Walkinshaw registered the website domain last year. The Business name, GMSV, was registered with ASIC 5 days after that article was published.

Good to hear the name registered. Surely points to good things.
Probably leaves the HSV name dead in the water - which isn't a bad thing, closes a nice chapter in Australian performance motoring.
