Actually i should have worded it differently.
People are buying the badge rather than the car
That is correct Col, Holden is the biggest selling South Korean manufacturer in Australia!! Ha ha
I wonder how all the Holden heads feel about that now?
Cruze may be built here now but its a South Korean designed and engineered car, along with Barina(throw up) and the new Malibu when it gets here!!
Actually it's technically 'German Engineered' given Opel did most of the engineering and the Korean's did most of the design work
Yep, another Dinky Di all "Australian" Holden
Really no different from quality German automobiles designed and engineered in the US and made in places like Thailand, China, etc I guess....
Except that Cruze is made here!

Holden says it needs in the order of $300 million in taxpayer funds to save jobs and keep its two-model production plant in Adelaide running - http://finance.ninemsn.com.au/newsbusiness/8426229/holden-needs-300m-taxpayer-money
As long as the money doesn't find it's way to funding another deal for 888. |

I think you'll find anything coming out of Daewoo has a fairly heavy GM-H influence and has since GM took control. |

Posted - 26 Feb 2012 : 10:15:46 I can agree with that.
The missus' Daewoo would have to be one of the most horrible cars on the road and when you take in how badly built it is, it surely makes it a POS. The biggest problem is how cheap everything been made. The air con, demister and fan controls are woeful. They've all broken and after pulling the dash out on 3 separate occassions and tying the problems together with zippy ties it's now fixed. The paint is another story. The clear is peeling and falling off. Now this thing even has the old Camira engine in it and leaks oil just like a Camira Top it all off and it needed a battery. Plenty of room for a full height one but they made the battery tray so high you have to buy a euro style low height one. 3 times the price of a normal battery. She liked it when she bought it, but she won't buy a thing from a Daewoo factory now |

It may be great having the car built here, but where is its drive-train coming from?
Don't get me wrong, as far as South Korfean cars go, Hyundai and KIA build great cars, Daewoo do not!!

Exactly, that's all that matters...ppl just make a fuss about it, when in the long run if that was you working at Eg...Holden, I'm sure you wouldn't care where it's designed just as long as your getting paid, putting food on the table and have a roof to live under! |
