I thought I would start a new thread for next year given the news that Benji has been thrown a life line by Bennett at the Broncos. Not sure how this decision got past the Broncos' football operations manager because I don't know where he would play without there being an injury to Milford or Hunt.

Also, whilst I take the point from Rabs listening to him on Triple M about this decision that Bennett has previously been a difficult person to read in terms of whether he favours established and experienced players being kept on rather than focusing on the recruitment of youngsters for the club's future (citing an example that he got rid of Wally amongst another that I can't remember), I think these days with Bennett that it is very much the former that he tends to hang onto players more.

I don't know about that. With the numbers of them following him to the NFL and having a soft spot for him when he was playing for the titans, I reckon that most of them will welcome him back which, from their perspective, is ok as long as they pay the right price for him.

When he returned last year, he did prove that he still was a decent player, but this year he was just awful to watch, even in State of Origin.

Yeah sure. I think that was his position.

Well then what about Tommy Raudonikis, Billy Smith, Ricky Stuart, Cooper Cronk, Sterlo, Keithy Holman, JT...

This'll be interesting.

Ricky Stuart - I would have thought that Daley was the better player?

Oh and btw - the exception can be more than one player.

I'll tell that to Alfie.

In an era when Kevin Walters was his 5/8, clearly he was the exception.

Perhaps if you actually look and take the time to read you will find that what I have said is correct, despite your admitting to not knowing about it then reckoning something else.

Pearce has signed with Newcastle.
I think there will still be a few more movements before the year ends.
Manly need a 5/8th now.

They got one in Cherry Evans - half back is a position that is pretty over-rated.

Daly does play better when he plays what he sees, rather than the traditional halfback role.

Manly are thin on the ground now though, dropping Green for Pearce has backflipped on them. Not sure there's very many quality halves left.

Big mistake for parra! Only just getting their **** together then they sign Hayne and just watch it go backwards

So Rothfield was right - no surprises there. Hayne can go and get ****ed seriously.
