I dont think the McLaughlin bit will be a sliding doors moment, I think hes got a seat no matter what.

The sliding doors part is that Power and/or Pageneud potentially lose the chance this year to save their seats for next year

Their president has been very slow on the uptake with this and it is literally killing them.

We will be up and running long before they will

The Yanks look to be in even more trouble than even the Italians....

Stay home Scotty!

The Yanks have now overtaken China with the number of cases. No one will be going stateside anytime this year. They'd have rocks in their head to even attempt it - and that's even if the outbound travel ban from Australia is lifted - which I don't think it will be by then.

Winton is in June unless im reading the calendar wrong. Assuming this covid S has run it course by then, mandatory quarantines might be done. In theory he could fly here, run the race, come home and be rested and ready for Darwin.

Then again, who know when this will be over. We (wife and I ) mighht miss Bathurst this year due to all this.

Well not only is it our Independence day weekend, but IMS is also hosting NASCAR the same weekend. The town will be overrun with rednecks aka bogans.

$50 hotel rooms will go for $300 minimum. Budlite will be sold out for a 200 mile radius around Indy. The roads will be bumper to bumper with brodozers (y'all Aussies might have to Google that one).

Also in terms of people bringing Covid-19 into Australia, we have had about twice as many cases from United States than any other country. And the USA is on track to have more confirmed cases than anywhere else in the world (54,000 cases currently in the USA, but 10,000 of those cases were discovered in the last 24 hours! For comparison, China had 100 new cases over the same time period).

Travelling to the USA could be considered too much of a risk for Scotty Mac, and even if he/the team are willing to risk that he's almost certainly going to face mandatory quarantines when he comes back to Australia which would mean missing any race in the following weeks.

If it doesnt clash with a V8 race then Id assume he will be on the grid July 4

Ok I am going to be completely honest here I know my motives are selfish but i would rather see Scotty stay here at DJRPennske.
I wish him well but who is going to fill his seat at DJRP, i think the only driver that is as good as Scotty would be the Gizz & maybe James Courtney.

While next year is unknown on who will be doing what i just think Scotty is irreplaceable.

I think you've got Scott McLaughlin mixed up with Marcus Marshall!

Scott is more like that Will Power chap who turned out to be not half-bad at all.
