Why is all this speculation in Silly 2019. It should be in Silly 2020........

Anyway, if Chaz does announce his 2020 contract during 2019, there are other teams on the radar for him to join. At least two with Mustangs and at least one with Commodore and yet another with an unannounced model. All these choices have been the subject of rumour except for a second Mustang at 23Red, which is just wishful thinking on my part.

These is also the perennial rumours starting again about Tickford and the number of cars they will run.

23red have confirmed one car for 2019 so I guess that it now off topic also.

Fixed.

Why can't Supercars go to Wakefield? FIA license issue?

They're having a crack at it now:

Have CAMS and Wakefield moved on?

Moved on from what?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the original owners have a spat with the costs of CAMS run events, so built their own track?

Now that I say it, it's moot anyway with Benalla owning the complex - and obviously operating a CAMS license as highlighted in the article.

it would be great to see, even if they don't get a race this year, add it to nexts years calendar. God knows we need more tracks in NSW

And I think we are gong to be lucky to get this weekends EC round done!! I recommend they run in ASAP I.E. tomorrow & Friday, then all VIC/NSW teams need to leave NSW straight away & head for either QLD or NT. This would pretty much guarantee NT & Townsvilles rounds & give everyone the much need time gap in hope VIC/NSW get everythng back under control..

No reason why they shouldnít be exempt with special conditions applied. The same crew and officials travelling state to state with no outside contact is safer then a trip to the local Bunnings. No spectators, a 3 week isolation for anyone out of the restricted Supercar circus such as track staff, local media, volunteers etc and anyone else involved in the running prior to each event and itíll be safe enough for everyone involved.

Money is the only thing stopping a complete championship because the powers to be are to greedy to put fans before profit.

I can understand why they are trying to keep it going as its cheaper to let it fizzle out than to pay out contracts for non events, but surely there is a point in the very near future that they have to pull up stumps and ride this thing out, rather than try and outrun it?

I think their best chance is to hope the border stays open until Monday and then do another dash to either Darwin or The Bend where they can reside for a while in an area less likely to have an outbreak.

Not anymore, South Australia have just banned anyone from NSW and ACT entering their state. That may nor may not include temporary residents of Eastern Creek, Sydney NSW.

Qld now banning people from Sydney hotspots, i give the qld/nsw border a week

They basically need to work backwards from Bathurst from here. I can't imagine them not returning to Melbourne until after Bathurst, so if they can squeeze in 3-4 rounds before the end of August, that allows them time to go to Melbourne for a break and return to NSW even with quarantine.

It will be very hard to do any Bathurst preparation in the first place without returning to base

Back to virtual racing I think.

For the love of God, close the QLD border again so we don't stuff them up as well. The Supercar season will be finished soon, unless the border with QLD isn't closed & closed very very soon & all teams are outside the VIC/ NSW bubble!

Can the Supercar teams go back into Victoria? Or can no one go both out and in?

By the sounds of it, I hope the team personnel donít get home sick!

think the current thing is you can come to Vic but anyone leaving gets the 2 week stay at home vacation...

the way it is going NSW will get border blocked by Qld too (and I reckon NT would follow suit) so that only leaves them 2 states available for the completion of the series... they could run a few in NSW, then have those teams come down to Vic and run 3 rounds after Bathurst, then return for the signed off SMP finale

think SC really could run a NSW championship to round out the year... there are 3 tracks available at SMP, plus Bathurst and they could easily enough provide a one off permit to run at Wakefield.

with NSW looking more and more like lockdown they have to do it I think... maybe make it a short run from here and have the season finish with Bathurst in October??
