In all cases I know of they are volunteers, but they are volunteers of the tracks, not the V8 people.

Yes they need to take days off their normal jobs, these same people pay for their own accomodation, food outside of the track, eg breakfast and evening dinner, they also pay for their fuel to travel to the tracks.

I am sure the Middle East rounds would be different, and I am not sure about NZ, but what I am talking is the case for all/most of the events in Australia.

As for the food stalls, many are manned by people who are fundraising for their charities, these are normally the ones in permanent buildings at permanent tracks (and these are the ones you should support). Some are profit making businesses, they are the ones who tow their trailers in and sell their wares, they pay the track owner for the privilige of doing just that.

Yes it sounds like frankie is a bit cranky, but how many times has Marcos had a great car at the start & the first caution Frankie changes it in him & instead of staying at the front the #47 starts to go backwards in a big way? He has even lodt potential race wins because of frankies miss judgments? This has happened to Marcos time & time again, all you have to do is go to the jgt/d site & read through the stuff that stopped the #47 charge to the front last week & this weekends race?

As Marcos said he had a great car first & a crap one latter on?
The potential in the first 40 laps the #47 was looking to finish in the top 5? But that didn't happen? Yes you are right he only designs them and dose not actually build them. But i stand by my point that i do not like the tracks he designs. China and Bahrain i personally think are boring circuits and do nothing to encourage good racing. Its become a busines first and formost now and a sport second.....in time thats going to come back to bite them.
