With the Cox Plate not so far away and with Makybe Diva in hot form i feel she will be a hot favourite for the event. But dont let that fool you, when was the last time someone won the Cox Plate from the back of the field? Certainly before Sunline's time. So with the narrow track and the history of the front runners who are in the top 4 winning the Cox Plate ive backed Lad of the Manor at $11 on fixed returns. What amazing odds they are for a horse, who in my mind, will win.
So Lad of the Manor is my tip, but Xcellent is a horse that might be up there along with a few others like the impressive Hollow Bullet, Dizzle, Vouvrey, Confectioner and quite a few others.
Im convinced Feilds of Omagh can win another cox plate, the David Hayes stable has set its sites on this race for the aging champ, and he came a close second last year. Im backing it at fixed odds tommorow
Yes well to be honest even though its going to be a smallish field 8-11 horses, i believe Makybe Diva might just be out of this one in terms of winning the race. So maybe it might be a Lad of the Manor, Feilds of Omagh Makybe Diva trifecta. Something to think about,
Well Feilds of Omagh finished 3rd a damn fine effort from the old fella. He has had 4 starts at the cox plate for a 5th, 1st, 2nd and a 3rd. But I didn't mind losing my money to such a stand out performer, Makybe Diva - What a horse.
