| if next year with the orion he doesnt start winning more races, maybe he's lost that fire inside him? hopefully with the new chassis he will start qualifying better and winning more? |

He just won a race on the weekend.
I dont think for a second that lowndes is the issue. When craig got his new car last year, it lost something, whincup now in craig old car i think.
and theres some many taleted drivers in the v8s that can win races, they cant all win. |

I said the other day to someone that Lowndes was charging up the leaderboard and they laughed at me....I said 'really?'.
He had a dodgy start to the season and most of it was not his fault. Suspension failures within the first 2 rounds hurt
Like lowndesforce, I belive this new car is a dud. As soon as Jamie stepped into Craig's old car he was a speed demon. In qualifying on Saturday both cars had identical setups - one worked and one didn't : Whincup is good, but he's no Craig Lowndes...
The fact they've built new cars so quickly indicates they aren't happy either. I'm praying they use Car88 for the enduros....
Just for my own amusement I mapped out this season, and then with being mocked at my comment that he was coming on strong this second half of the season, I isolated the last 4 rounds to show what sort of momentum he was building( we've had 8, so...)
Points scored in the last 4 rounds :
Tander 166 ( Avg 41.5 )
Rick 159 (Avg 39.87 )
Jamie 149 (Avg 37.25 )
Lowndes 197 (Avg 49.25 )
Todd 144 (Avg 37.12 )
Skaife 169 (Avg 42.25 )
Not bad for a bloke who's doing no good - imagine if they didn't throw away 22 points by starting him on slicks in race 3....
In graph form for those that don't care for numbers ( you guys might want to rethink the whole 'getting hosed by Whincup' theory....)

You guys are tough.
He's coming 4th this year, was runner up the last 2 years and won Bathurst last year!
He would have won last years Championship if Rick didn't deliberately take him out. |

Since I've was on about the last 4 rounds and momentum, I'll stick to it.
Lowndes has been whipped by Whincup, has he?
Last 12 races, Craig has set the faster lap time of the pair 7 times ( including 2 fastest lap of the race's ) to jamie's 5 ( no fastest laps ).
Craig has had 3 race wins to Jamie's 0 ( he does have 4 overall though ), and Lowndes has been on the podium in 7 races to jamie's 5.
Just imagine if he had a decent car - Whincup wouldn't know which way he went..... |

He's only had 1 car capable of winning a Championship since he's been with Ford - and it was about to, but it got driven into...
But you're right - a dud car has nothing to do with winning in motorsport - Bowe and the rest of them they constantly finish p20+ need to take a good hard look at themselves....obviously by your logic they have just the same chance as the rest of them... |

Re: the graph, it looks like they've *all* got good momentum, or else Lowndes would have seriously caught up to Rick and Garth by now! Problem is, the graph cannot predict where the lines will go next. Maybe we'll see lines flatten or even decline through points deductions!
Interesting graph, rabbits - perhaps you could keep track of the points accumulation throughout the year, and compile a plot for the entire season at the end? |

The 2005 and 2006 cars were good - 2nd both years, should have been 1st last year if the bloke he was racing could drive, but which other Ford's should he have done well in?
