I know cricket is underway - mostly a long way away but some of the footy players have started their pre-season training.
Others are playing for their respective countries and then there's the others...

Round 1 Draw

Parramatta Eels vs Brisbane Broncos
Wests Tigers vs Cronulla Sharks
Penrith Panthers vs Canterbury Bulldogs
Warriors vs Manly Sea Eagles
Newcastle Knights vs St George-Illawarra Dragons
Canberra Raiders vs Melbourne Storm
North Queensland Cowboys vs Gold Coast Titans
South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Sydney Roosters

Some interesting match ups there for the first round.
Benny is playing his old team.
Manly are going over the ditch to play the Warriors.
I wonder just how lopsided the draw will be this year.

Cowboys v Gold Coast, from one Queensland team to another for the cows.
At least they finally get a first round home game!

But they don't really need a home game in the beginning of March.
It'll be a bit warm - even at night time!!

Thats my point.
Cows train in it and become more aclimatised to it than their visitors!

As was alluded to a few weeks ago, it appears that Hasler may be gone for 2012.

THis happens a lot, even the dragons put up with Bennett hocking players to go with him before he left the dragons and there was no upheaval

NRL: Former Manly Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler set to take over as Bulldogs coach immediately.

DES Hasler will take over as coach of the Bulldogs in a matter of days - yet his war with Manly is far from over as he pursues more than $500,000 in compensation from his former club for sacking him.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that caretaker coach Jim Dymock will stand aside and Hasler will take over at Belmore shortly.

Jim Dymock wouldn't be too happy. Better for the Bulldogs though, knowing that they won't have a new coach for only a year. I'd expect the Doggies in the 8 now though.
