So why are you supporting austerity budget when we have an unemployment crisis in Australia?

And you still haven't addressed Morrison misleading the public about a death under the care of his ministry.

I recall Howard's mob giving out a grant of a couple of hundred thousand dollars for some one to go around outback Oz and take photos of barbed wire. You know to preserve some culture.

The Libs NBN is going to cost less because it only does 1/10th of Labors grand plan. Might only cost $29billion but there is no guarantee that the service is any better than the current ADSL+2 or fixed wireless technology.

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.

What are the reasons for the other key hotspots for youth unemployment? They give a reason for Parramatta being a hotspot, so, what are the reasons for the other hotspots?

Possibly this:

http://www.swinburne.edu.au/chancellery/mediacentre/media-centre/news/2013/06/the-bigger-picture-of-the-457-visa

Swinburne Uni estimates 457 visa holders make up 10% of the nations workforce. Why are we concerned with boat arrivals when we invite thousands more to take Australian jobs?

(1) One reason would be because we have a budget crisis. I know that because you keep telling us.

(2) Nope. You still don't get it.

EDIT to add: I haven't said I support an "austerity budget". I do support a "fiscally responsible"** budget.

** "Fiscally responsible" is a term in common use in Australian politics, recent popularised by Kevin Rudd. I take it to mean "not throwing money around wastefully".

Still haven't addressed Morrison's failure to protect refugees in custody. If the pink batts deaths needed a Royal commission then why does this need no comment whatsoever?

Funny, I don't remember them dying inside a detention centre? I remember them dying on boats piloted by people smugglers. Are you saying Morrison is as culpable as people smugglers for the death?

Unusually mature for you LG

I don't know where I stand on the asylum seeker death. Yes, an asylum seeker killed in the riots on Manus Island, and yes, there is a blame game about who was responsible whether that be the Abbott Government (the government in power) or the Labor Government (the ones that reopened Manus). A duty of care was broken hence why there were riots which resulted in someone been killed. Ahhh, I know where I stand now, it's the security guards fault. If they stood by their duty of care, the riots would have still happened but would have been controlled, and the asylum seeker might have only ended up wounded.

As for youth unemployment, surely there is another reason other than 457 Visas?

Good article on the 457 visa 27.

I don't have a problem with the 457 visa doing what it was originally supposed to do, but it's being abused.

Why does Jupiters casino on the Gold Coast have to bring in 457 cleaners when there are people screaming for jobs on the Gold Coast
I've got no doubt that this same sort of thing is happening across the country.
A 457 visa should be there to fill a specific skill shortage and once that has been identified the industry should be training people in that particular field to fill those shortages.

It's time we started looking after our own and that includes companies that are still Australian owned.

Looks like Tony is getting smashed in the polls. 54 to 46 to the ALP in two party preferred vote.

Maybe it has something to do with this...

a one term Government, I have been saying it all along!!!!!!

'tis a pity that Shorten is the Labor leader, I reckon Labor would have had more of a chance with Albo, Shorten has a bit of a smelly history

It's a pity there isn't one of those proper polls for a while. You know, one of those "The only poll that counts"? Maybe we could do a countdown clock, counting down the days.

The earliest date on which Tony can hold a poll is August 6th, 2016. He won't be going any earlier than he has to, so forget that one. The latest he can hold a poll is January 14th 2017. That's in the Christmas holidays, so forget that. It'll have to be earlier. It won't be over Christmas, or in the few weeks before Christmas. That brings it back to late November. Saturday, November 25th, 2016 would be a likely date. That's 994 days away. Not so bad, when you think about it. It's already less than 1,000 days before you can vote Tony out.

Here we go on the countdown...

994 DAYS (and counting)
