Here's a new target for Pugsley Hockit and Gomez Abbott.

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/comment/budget-pain-not-for-millionaires-who-pay-no-tax-20140512-zr9o3.html

I'll bet my left nut they don't follow it up.
While they're at it they should be looking at the grubs living off investments and putting the majority of the salary into their super and paying very little tax

These tax minimisers/avoiders have been getting away with it for a long time, although some of those 'rorts' like offsetting profits against losses and franking credits are fair and reasonable allowances in taxation law. There wasn't any action on these schemes in the last seven years, Joe didn't mention them in his Budget Speech, and Bill didn't in his reply either.

I wouldn't bet any of my parts against some changes happening on some of them, but you go on Col. Could be interesting.

Wow Zaccy, must be very lonely over there in LNP fan club HQ. I'll tell them not to cut off the power.

Bill Shorten’s speech worked well as a mission statement, eloquently keeping the focus on the practical implications of the budget for millions of Australians, especially poorer ones. He did a good job of demonstrating how out-of-touch the government appears to be with the situation of ordinary people.

Looks like its One Term Tony confirmed. Just how short will his one term be?

"..eloquently keeping the focus on the practical implications of the budget, but unable to offer an alternative." Opinions - we've all got them.

Here's another opinion: http://www.pedestrian.tv/news/arts-and-culture/bill-shorten-finally-wakes-up-in-budget-reply-spee/c54b3d00-365e-4da0-9a93-6c213ac0e42d.htm

There have been 8 surplus budgets since Federation.....seems a few have a lot to account for??...Howard gave out 70 billion in tax cuts in 2007 budget....which Rudd foolishly matched....

Has Bill Shorten got the gonads to halt supply and kill Hockey's massively flawed budget?

Does Tony Abbott have the gonads to call a double-dissolusion if Labor, the Greens and PUP halt supply!!

Tony and Joe have blown what was left of their credibilty, especially Joe Hockey, now everybody hates him!! ha ha

Pugsley and Gomez don't have the balls. They're a pair of ****ing cowards, that's why they have cut the funding to schools and hospitals so the states will be forced to raise the GST. The state governments will have to explain why they want to raise it to the voters while they sit in Canberra smoking cigars and dreaming up other ways of screwing sick and old people

**** Gomez. I'd block supply and see how those filthy ratbags like it when the shoe is on the other foot.
Some how I think the GG has a bit more sense than that lower than a snakes arsehole Kerr did in 1975

That budget is so bad even Newman is whinging about it

Scrapping Abbott's $22 billion dollar maternal leave white elephant.

http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2014-05-15/bill-shorten-promises-to-defend-pensioners-low/5456240

You also missed the 1.5% corporate tax rate cut Abbott announced if you're going to moan about the debt.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-05-18/march-in-may-rallies-thousands-gather-to-protest-against-budget/5460482

Edit: Impressive turnout in Sydney today to protest the Budget. Stretched half a mile. At least 10,000 people easy. And 25,000 in Melbourne, 8,000 in Adelaide and 5,000 in Perth.

Peaceful and fun atmosphere.

Same reason why these people weren't at work back in 2011.

Then again, maybe the protesters today could hold down a job with days off because they aren't so offensive.

They usually get fired for breaking anti-discrimination laws, telling people their fathers died of shame, horrible things like that...

Anyway, back to the massive and peaceful protests today. Many kids out there.

None of the rude and offensive fringe from the anti-Carbon tax demos.

I know there have been some hard luck stories thrown around but is the $7 GP fee really an issue? If you're chronically ill or bordering on the poverty line, I could understand that the $7 fee could be an issue but is it for everyone else?

Cutting Gonski is a strange one, especially when the sole purpose of it was to deliver equal funding for both public and private schools, but they have an ideal solution for that cut, and that is possibly making high income earners that intend to send their kids to a public school pay a $1000 fee. Sure, it could help with school funding but since we now have a culture of parents trying to outdo other parents, Joe Blo from Sunnyvale could send his son Darren to the local public school for free, whereas Lorraine from Brighton Le Sands could send her daughter Sally-anne to the same school and pay $1000 for the year, and then later on complain that Darren gets in for free, whereas its $1000 for Sally-anne to go, which could be unfair as Sally-anne could be a brighter student than Darren.

They have scrapped the $5000 Tools for Trade scheme for apprentices and replaced that with a $20000 HECS style loan, which in a way, does seem like a good idea as there are some apprentice trades that don't require purchasing tools.

Gillard and Swan tried a few things targeting the ultra rich and companies to fix it but was howled down by the Libs.

Around about the same time Abbott and Co were promising to fix everything with magic pixie dust.

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.
