The Australian Government Wants To Let Business Hire Foreign Workers On 10% Less Than Locals

Abbott is making us second class citizens in our own ****ing country! I hope an unfortunate accident hits the traitor Abbott or every single Aussie will be ****ed.

But let's call a spade a spade...Rorting the system is to Pollies what cashies or tax evasion is to private enterprise....

That's great, it starts with an earthquake

Sure...as the old addage says that oppositions don't get voted in but governments get voted out...better the devil you know than the devil you don't etc...but you also have to remember that the labor party is all about 'big' government, plentiful services (excessive is another interpretation) and the very essence of carrying out a 'fear campaign' is to market that a big government is necessary to greater protect the vulnerable and needy.

It's funny, isn't it?

Labor can stuff up by spending money excessively that the country doesn't have and going way over budget while the coalition gets ridiculed for dropping promises that they cannot longer afford given the financial position the Labor party left the country in.

Fair, isn't it?

To respond to Bruce in the NRL thread: it is probably the single hardest loss I have had to deal with at Souths to lose Bully. Much worse than Sam Burgess as he didn't symbolise Souths as Bully did. I think a lot will underestimate just how much a loss he will be to Souths but I fully understand how engrossed he is with NZ and I think given that he will make the successful transition that others haven't.

Trev, you should know better than to suggest something that is far more logical than what the current idea is.

We know that there are skills shortages, but the wider media and various governments aren't helping the cause as they aren't telling us what sectors have a skills shortage. Maybe that might solve one of the issues?

Earn or learn? Sorry, you can't afford to learn and foreigners have taken your job so you can't earn. Welcome to Abbott's Australia where Aussies are public enemy #1.

Now we will definitely have a recession once all the foreign workers have remitted their wages. Bye bye Aussie retail sector.

Libs have done nothing to lower the debt, they have increased it and blew out the budget deficit.

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.

Without being able to pass measures in the Senate to restructure government spending, debt increasing was always going to be.

Ha ha Bundy. The only thing Abbott has done is remove the Carbon tax which has cut revenue and blown out the debt further. But I guess only big business deserves a tax cut.

Abbott doesn't care about the debt, he just wants to punish regular Aussies by giving away our jobs, charging massive fees for healthcare and blocking us from education.

It becomes a sad state of affairs when you have to drag the debate down to this level.

I am no rabbits that's for sure

---------------------------

The article in yesterday's Courier Mail really confirmed to me the exaggeration there is from the labor supporters that Abbott's record to date in government is cause for him to lose the next election. Just look at Abbott's editorial top 5 'favourite moments' versus the top 5 'worst moments' in his first year of government:

Favourites

1. June 2014 - Asylum seekers - 6 months without an illegal boat arriving
2. March 2014 - Return of Australian knights
3. July 2014 - Legislation removing carbon tax
4. June 2014 - Meeting with Obama
5. August 2014 - Meeting Australian troops in the Persian Gulf.

Worst

1. April 2014- No PPLS
2. May 2014 - Sinodinos stands down
3. August 2014 - Joe Hockey's comments on the poorest people
4. August 2014 - Senate turns down repeal of carbon tax
5. November 2013 - Indonesia condemns the Australian government for secretly listening in on phone conversations that the Indonesian president is having.

----------------------

As for the poll from Essential Media as to who has been the best ever treasurer in the history of Australian politics with Costello polling 30%, Keating 23%, Swan 8% and Hockey 5%.

If the poll was taken 3 years after Howard was elected, Costello would be below 10% in my opinion but obviously that increased as the economy and the financial position of their government improved.

Hockey should take solace from the path that Costello took and persist and fight on because it will only get better as the budget bottom line becomes closer to getting in the black.
