I have a fantastic feeling about todays Victorian State election, come tomorrow there will be a Victorian Labor Government and we will have an Independent in our seat that has been held by the National Party for 47 years - bring it on

hearing reports that Abbott is poison down there Trev....and they have brought out Howard to rally support! Starting to look very much like we may have 2 one term Libs administrations heh...fingers crossed!

I watching 7:30 NSW last night and they had an interesting interview with current NSW Premier Mike Baird. Baird has promised that if the Liberals stay in power at the next election, they will be selling off the poles and wires so they can fund the transport revolution in Sydney.

Um, what does the rest of NSW get out of it?

Although I am surprised it is so close, I thought Labor had it in the bag.

Not only Howard but Bishop too!

To respond to Bruce in the NRL thread: it is probably the single hardest loss I have had to deal with at Souths to lose Bully. Much worse than Sam Burgess as he didn't symbolise Souths as Bully did. I think a lot will underestimate just how much a loss he will be to Souths but I fully understand how engrossed he is with NZ and I think given that he will make the successful transition that others haven't.

Was only standing to ensure the survival of the Palais Theatre, once Labor had pledged it would tip in at least half of the required amount he said he hoped Labor would win the seat and that he would give his preferences to them and people didn't have to vote for him

Looks like he got around 4% of the vote for Albert Park

If Tex did get in, would he need a suit and tie and have his hair cut way up high?

Tony is on borrowed time, once the dust settles over the Vic election, expect to see bishop and Turnball ramp up their leadership aspirations with the Lib hardliners supporting them.

And hats off to Jackie Lambie for standing her ground on the Defence pay case.

The 1.5% per year increase is an insult, but the proposed allowance cuts would have made for some unnecessary financial hardship on our military personnel.

New Commodore Hey! So you used your own money? Would you like to buy a used bridge?

Who goes first? Backflip Abbott or Heavily in denial Hockey? So much for that unity we were bragged to about for years.

the Vic state libs can thank their own arrogance for the loss... if any one of them actually grew a brain and listened to the constituents they may well still be in power...

Looks like the Sex Party has scored more votes than Palmer United in the Upper House, in fact they are the 4th highest behind Labor, Lib's & Green's....
