Has anyone here bought a camera from overseas though a grey import store?? I've noticed JB HiFi have started offering Grey Imports as an option at a significantly cheaper rate, I know a few other places offer grey imports too but I wondering if anyone has had any experience with them? I'm looking to replace some of my gear that got stolen but insurance isn't going to cover it so its got to come out of my pocket.
buying thru JB i think is a great idea... a local store you can still go back to when you need a warranty fix..
be aware though that your camera may need to be sent overseas for a warranty claim... apparantly Nikon Aus will not warranty claim a grey product... don't know what Canon's stand is or other brands.
but you can save a ton of money by taking this road for sure.
I'm starting to think JB is a good idea... I think Canon have the same stance on "Grey" items, but it does make me wonder where they stand on a camera if you buy it overseas while you on holidays...
I'm in NSW I haven't seen that many WOW's down here... The usual retailers are still charging through the roof at the moment.
