so Ferrari's (and a one off race at that) and Stadium Trucks (again, a one off) are more important than our own dev series... good to know...

I'm sure the dev guys will be stoked to go and have a look...

Bad choice for sure. Pretty well a Ferrari version of Carrera Cup by the sounds of it.

lol... just thinking... hit the rumble strips at t1/2 and immediately have 20 broken Ferrari's !

an issue perhaps with turn 8? just pondering as I was about to hit enter... if they wall it they will be in serious trouble as it would be drivers side (or are they R/H'ers?)

The Porka's are LHD - Reyolds survived a Cooper/Seton style crash at T8 in 2008 or something.

In terms of Turn 8 and these guys - well, there are 3 types of Turn 8 drivers - Perfect (all V8 guys, front Ute guys, front ARC guys, etc), Out of their Depth (most support category midfields)... these guys push hard, usually get it right, but are on a knife edge - and finally there are the guys who aren't putting it on the line and drive up the centre of the road!

The Rari's will probably have mainly Out of their Depth guys, with the majority in the third category. They'll either be fairly entertaining at T8 because they're a bunch of flogs trying too hard in a new environment, or I'll have to go and watch them at the Hairpin or T4.

Ferrari Challenge will no longer be at Clipsal.

http://www.speedcafe.com/2014/12/04/f1-demo-replaces-458-challenge-clipsal-500/

A Ferrari Formula 1 demonstration has been added to next year’s Clipsal 500 bill as a replacement for the Ferrari Asia Pacific Challenge.

The marquee event held at the Adelaide Parklands circuit from February 26 – March 1 will once again echo to the sound of F1 machinery, with the Maranello squad set to perform a series of high speed runs, burnouts and pit stop demonstrations.

The arrival of the F1 demo comes following news that the Ferrari Asia Pacific Pacific Challenge series, which caters for 458 GT cars, is unable to take up its slot on the support bill due to calendar and sponsorship clashes.

Details regarding the specification of the F1 car due to make an appearance at the event are yet to be confirmed.

In addition to the F1 show, more than 50 Ferrari road cars will also be on display, including the $3 Million LaFerrari hybrid supercar, 288GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo models.

“We are very excited to paint Adelaide in a sea of red with an array of Ferrari displays and exciting events throughout the weekend, including the chance to see a display of the world’s rarest Supercars,” said Ferrari Australasia CEO Herbert Appleroth.

“We are also proud to unveil details of the official Ferrari F1 Show which had remained confidential until now.

“The streets of Adelaide will once again hear the roar of a Ferrari F1 when our Scuderia entertain motorsport fans over the weekend with the must-see official Ferrari F1 Show.”

Ahhhhhhhhh for ****s sake.

To be honest I was concerned from the first second I heard the rumor they were coming.

Asian series are the most volatile and unreliable things to ever exist.

Great, now we get a 2012 Ferrari F1 doing 3 fairly slow laps twice a day and then a bunch of 360 Modena's going at a snails pace. Damnitttt!! THERE WERE GOING TO BE NO GAPS IN RACING THIS TIMEE!!!! NO GAPPSS!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Only thing that would totally make up for it would be an array of F1 cars, like the F1 Clienti Scuderia days in Europe - where they run a bunch of F1 cars for clients, like ' 88, '90, '99, '01, '02, '05, '07 etc.
If we get a V10, all is forgiven!

As expected. V8SC is about the most stable and reliable series this side of Istanbul and that doesn't day much.
