Plenty of people seem to be excited by the dead rubber V8 Round at Sydney next weekend.
Personally the Island Magic weekend at PI this weekend is a far more exciting prospect.
The final Round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship (sorry "Series") headlines the weekend with Formula Vee Nationals also an exciting part of a program which includes the annual one hour Cue Sports car race and Improved Production races.
should be a great weekend... and cheap enough that a good crowd SHOULD come if they can be bothered... the hardest thing is that (I think) it is schoolies down at the island too which can make it a bit crowded if you head to Cowes for tea on Sat night.
currently showing some wetness for Sunday... see what happens.
Sensational racing in FF and FV at PI today, weather was perfect and a new FF Champion crowned, congratulations to Thomas Randle , a deserving Champion after a hard fought Series and a great final race where it was basically whoever was ahead out of the three contenders Randle, Lloyd and Golding was going to be Champion of 2014 following in the footsteps of so many great drivers. All three would have been deserving CHAMPIONS.
Sounds like it turned out better than the Tasman Trophy...massively depleted fields at the end of the day due to thunderstorms and the Group N Trophy Race cancelled. Still a good day of racing, though.
Looking forward to some pictures from the Island .
