Is it even possible that the new salary cap can be as easily rorted as the current one?

All rules are made to be broken.

It always depends on your level of expertise.

I highly doubt it is just Manly rorting the system. Roosters, storm, bulldogs, broncos are all manipulating the salary cap just obviously do it a little better, however everyone will get caught eventually thanks to whistleblowers who have either noved on or missed out.

Betting in ball sports should be limited, there are to many individual player bets to be made allowing a single player to throw games

It's a part of the sport, and as LG says, a level of expertise.

Example:
Player A plays NRL, Player B plays U20's. Player A is in the top 25 players, therefore his salary is included in the cap, Player B's isn't. They live together and Player A has his salary reduced, however, Player B has his salary increased. Player B then pays ALL rent on the house, therefore covering the losses Player A makes on his Salary, but the gains of Player B's salary isn't included in the cap.

Etc. and there's 100 ways you can re-write this and make it work, just think of the possibilities once you have siblings in the club, one taking more money, one less.

Queensland wanted it.
NSW didn't.

Well played by them all!

Serves NSW right by picking Mitchell Pearce. I mean seriously what were they thinking?

As for my pre-game predictions, I am happy to eat my words about Munster. Well done to him and Queensland on a terrific performance.

Mitchell Pearce had a much better game than any of the forwards, except Frizell for a short while.
Blame the hairdresser and the big grub - Qld didn't give them an inch and they played like under 8s.

They scored 6 points which in the end should be on the halves to shoulder the blame.

Don't understand footy much...

If there's no go forward from the forwards then everything else is stuffed.

Wonder if they will give Laurie another crack. On paper NSW should of atleast been able keep the scorline within a couple of points but they have NO heart and will to win! Queensland have always had minimal team changes year in year out and have developed unstoppable combinations and unbeatable passion and desire to win. NSW need to learn from this and find a new coach and young players so they can inject State of Origin passion back into our side and put a stop to these embarrassing performances year in year out.

Firstly, LG said it, QLD wanted it - and Cam steered the ship perfectly. Congratulations to them.

Laurie doesn't deserve another crack. How was Cordner playing for 80 on one leg and our best forward Frizell on the bench? Tactically we/he got it wrong. Our forwards didn't aim up and our halves had no time to work with - everything became forced. Ferguson was caught in no mans land twice in Holmes three tries, comparatively on the other wing Morris was one of the best.

@ Troy - This WAS the year of youth and continuity! We had the same 17 through the series and said goodbye to Gallen, Farah and co. Just about every player in the squad demanded selection with their NRL form. They just didn't deliver when needed.

Truth be told, we should've won game II. Coming to Suncorp was always going to be a tough ask with the emotion of JT. We had the game in Game II and threw it away.

IMHO I believe the difference between the two sides QLD is a champion team and NSW is a team of champions. QLD have the right culture that is passed on to each new player. I think it means more for a QLD player to pull on the maroon jersey than it does for a NSW player to pull on a blue one. If NSW don't address this QLD are going to keep winning.

Which makes me a very happy Queenslander
