A different look this weekend: France. It has been a few years since F1 has gone there and a LOT more years since Circuit Paul Ricard. I can remember many times when they raced at Magny-Cours that the U.S. announcers commented that the series should have never left Paul Ricard. Not so much for the circuit, but the area was much more popular for tourism vice the area around Magny-Cours.

Looking forward to it.

The circuit has been ruined since the last time F1 race there though unfortunately.... they've put a chicane on the Mistral which they are apparently going to be using.

At least they are going to use the proper first part of the track, rather than the cut-in-half version they used from 1986-1990

RIP LJ - loved and never forgotten.

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

The Peter Brock trophy is now where it belongs.

Maybe McLaren should have stuck with Honda power. At least it gave them a convenient excuse! Nearly 1.5 seconds slower than the RedBulls, with the same engine.

They are a disaster at the moment.

Eventful race. Couple of surprises, that Vettel only got a 5 second penalty, and that Ferrari allowed Kimi to pass him later in the race.

Yes indeed. Seb had a massive lead on the next place car. He even pitted after Kimi passed him and held his spot. Kimi could have feathered it and followed him to the end.

I think they allowed Kimi passed because they knew a podium was a good chance.
