At the moment, HSV has some of its 550-car initial allocation remaining, but the company won't reveal exactly how many.

HSV expects that it will have a limited supply of ZL1s in 2019, totalling around 300 units to be sold locally. Production of the 10-speed automatic Camaro ZL1 kicks off in April, while manual models will begin production in May.

So Jack Lebrock doesn't know who will be driving the Truck Assist ZB in WA and Mono Webb said he will be naming the driver for the next round 4 or5 days from the event!
Looks like the Teckno honeymoon is over! Rullo was mentioned as a replacement but that would require the Kelly's giving the go ahead!

New Commodore Hey! So you used your own money? Would you like to buy a used bridge?

Kelly's won't stand in his way they love this assisting and helping young talent crap.

Just noticed this should be in the 2019 thread

I think it was sorted pretty quickly after an email from Roger.

Will be interesting to see if Fabian does get to boot. How will he react in the final races if in the Championship hunt?
He'd know full well that it would probably be his final shot?

It is still curious that posters are making the assumption that Fabs' contract is in its final year.

All, as I recall, that was announced was that Fabs has a multi-year contract but specifically without a public end year.

The Penske organisation loves winners and Fabs is a winner.

Similar media and social media stories are regularly made about Penske drivers and are mostly unfounded when contracts are renewed, if, indeed, the contract is even up for renewal.

I actually suspect that the next DJR/TP driver to be replaced will be Scotty with Fabs staying for continuity.

Maybe they will even find a worthy Aussie driver.

Penske are pretty tight lipped about the end date but I heard from someone linked to another driver that Fabs is safe to continue into 2020 as long as he is hitting numbers, if not then it's hello ****! Surely he is hitting the numbers required as Scott is their baby so 2nd is about as good as he can get.

Frankly, if it did happen, the public would not know the difference with FBW and the paddle shifts probably would not be noticed without the talking heads rabbiting on.

In any case almost all of "the public" will not be watching it anyhow, or even know it is being broadcast.

Maybe he just got the year wrong. FBW was used by Erebus and found to be a disadvantage back in 2013.

quote:
Determined to make performance ground on its V8 Supercars rivals as soon as possible, Erebus Motorsport will set aside its sophisticated drive by wire throttle technology and revert to the cable actuation used by the rest of the field.

Drive by wire and dual throttle butterflies had been approved for the teamís three Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 Supercars because it was a system used by the M159 6.2-litre engine production engine.

AND from 2017:
quote:
The Supercars Commission is analysing the prospect of introducing paddle-shift to the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

The topic was discussed by the Commission last week, where cost, safety and sporting implications of such a move were debated.

Happy to be quoted next season.

The decision is based on protecting engines in an attempt to reduce costs and electronically actuated shifting is key to achieving that.

Supercars have made it very clear as of the beginning of this season of their intentions to lower costs and have already made a lot of steps to head into that direction already (engine development freezes, limiting how lean teams can run, single springs and now control dampers).
