So a lot of the focus has been on the Mustang this year, with many saying it is too fast! However, I am interested in thoughts on T8 RBHRT and their performance in 2019?

Do people believe they are at the usual standard? Have they maximised their cars in terms of speed and reliability?

Do you think they have room to lift their performance and by how much as the season goes on?

Should we be judging parity in terms of race performance if they are not at the usual standard? Is it sporting and fair to do so?

never think 888 will be sitting on their hands. The most successful and professional team we have ever seen with the best driver we have ever seen in JW

they will be a force in 2019, don't worry about that

Can anybody confirm that Jamie was setting the fastest mid sectors at AGP last weekend, I have read it elsewhere but unsure of the veracity? This is the most areo sensitive part of the track right?

It certainly is unusual for them to be missing set ups, having wheels fall off and engines expiring.
One has to wonder why this is happening to such an outfit.

Tim Slades view - "Slade says BJR's work understanding that shift in particular is paying off.

"Not a whole lot's changed with our car," Slade said.

"I think just the whole linear spring change has suited us more than some others."

JW was a match for all but Scotty and Chad for outright speed last week, and there where only hundredths in it.
Once 888 get on top of the single spring thing they will be swapping race wins with Scotty!
Thats why any change to Mustang is premature.

There were some qualifying laps where the Holdens were good in sector 2 however the shortened qualifying sessions made it a poor indicator. They surely were all driving with a big safety margin and there would have been mistakes.

The race lap times are the only thing I think can be judged. These are the times for the final race:

Scotty Mac (fastest overall - lap 7):
- fastest lap 1:56.0687
- sector 1: 46.0206
- sector 2: 32.1463
- sector 3: 37.9018

Chaz (second fastest overall - lap 7):
- fastest lap 1:56.0814
- sector 1: 46.0100
- sector 2: 32.1846
- sector 3: 37.8868

Whincup (fastest Holden - fifth fastest overall - lap 8):
- fastest lap 1: 1:56.9458
- sector 1: 46.2243
- sector 2: 32.3557
- sector 3: 38.3658

Simona (fastest Nissan - lap 2)
- fastest lap: 1:58.2406
- sector 1: 46.9891
- sector 2: 32.8361
- sector 3: 38.4154

I tend to agree M, been a long time since SVG missed the top ten in qualifying! Clearly they are not on top of their cars...which is making the racing look much more lopsided than it is....but T8 will bounce back for sure

SVG is a perfect example of how lost 888 have been with setup. This issue has caused the panic in their stops which has caused mistakes to be made.
SVG also proved that when they got it brighter, he was as fast as anybody else! It's not a car issue, it's a team/setup issue!

In the first 25 lapper race on Friday, I watched Giz closely on live timing. He drove to a number conserving tyres in first stint. Was remarkably consistent. He hit the mark within 2 tenths lap after lap. Didn't have outright pace as the lap time was about 1.3s off the fastest to the stage that he pitted which was late. Clearly, imo because of set-up trying for strategy results at both Adelaide and AP.

Interesting in the time above, that Simona was pretty much as fast in Sector 3 as Whincup! very close in sector 2 between Whincup and the Stangs!

Shane's fastest race lap all weekend was a 1:57.3.

The fastest race lap in a Mustang was 1:55.9.

He was never "as fast as anybody else".

Whincup was on an out lap with cold tyres. He wasn't going fast enough for anyone following to set the fastest lap of the race.

What happened is Chaz was held up by Tim Slade, so he went into the pits which gave him clean air. Whincup did the same to try and cover Chaz but the mustang overtook almost immediately and left Whincup for dead - building a gap of more than half a lap over the next several laps.

Itís certainly been a rough start for them, itís a miracle thatís j-dubs second un the championship. The real indicator to parity is that drivers like will Davison and fabs are at the pointy end in the stang when they were nowhere in the falcon. Youíd expect Scotty to be there, but all of them??
