I guess we all know there's major rule changes coming at the end of next year.

Plans include new engine specs, new aero to improve following, budget caps, and for some strange reason heavier cars.
(Why the **** would they make the cars even heavier? They're near obese as it is.)

Lewis has offered input from the driver's side:

Disagree with the budget caps. F1 is just that, the #1 form of motorsport - where millions are spent on minor developments. Pushing the line.

The question of tyres that Lewis brings up is always a discussion point.
Pushing every lap would probably just see Merc win by more, but everything becomes faster. Degrading tyres generally sees different strategies (for better or worse).
Always a fine line.

The problem with budget caps is that they probably won't work. In fact they could even be counterproductive.

Car makers like Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault and maybe Maclaren will be able to hide some of their F1 spending as development for road cars. Teams like RBR,Haas,Racing point etc. won't.

The gap between the haves and the have nots could get even bigger.

A better step would be fairer distribution of prizemoney, IMO.

As for the tyres, I've always felt it should be a driver's championship and drivers should be pushing 100% most of the time, not cruising saving tyres or fuel.

And here are the new regs:

Same engines, cars should be able to follow, less upgrades over the weekend, BUDGET CAPS!
This is massive for F1. They'll also introduce standardised parts - from memory there was only one standard part under teh current rules?

Not actually a huge fan of how the cars are supposed to look. I much prefer the look of the current cars to be honest. However if it creates better racing and more unpredictability then fantastic. I still like F1 in its current state, I don't think it's boring like a lot of people seem to, but it could certainly be better.
