This is very very sad

RIP05

_Mholden

RIP LJ - loved and never forgotten.

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

The Peter Brock trophy is now where it belongs.

Clearly a decision they didn't really want to make. You can certainly see his passion for the sport and the fans.

Kudos to Garry for the verbal announcement and explaination, very, very well done.
Hopefully the TCR and S5000 commitments keep rolling well into the future.

for all the years.

The raw emotion!! You will be missed Garry. Superfarce is now officially a joke! At least he laid the blame where it should be, on the inflexibility of the "suits" to let the teams run their own teams!

Wow. A tough day and a sad day for the sport when GRM leave. There are a lot of factors that have led to this, but isnít just Supercars and the recent emergence of a sponsor being upset with an upright.

The great 2019 poll about whether Tricky should be banned or not ended in favour of Tricky staying, 75% to 25%

Due to the pig headed stupidity of Seamer and his 'make us rich' mate's, GRM are gone and KRT are down to 2 cars!
Best of luck with TCR and S5000 GRM.

New Commodore Hey! So you used your own money? Would you like to buy a used bridge?

Sad day...... and piss poor form Supercars for not giving them an extra 1-2 weeks as Garry said!
Thanks for the memories and go hard in the TCR and S5000 series.

GRM has been a force in motorsport for a long time.

They have, many times, changed brands, categories, classes etc.

This is just another phase in GRM evolution.

Good luck and many thanks to Garry, Barry and team members past and present.

They have simply moved on to newer and more exciting classes.

One thing I can't understand:

Mr Boost was prepared to fund new uprights for all competitors except for 4, or possibly 8.

Why didn't he just go to 888 and buy the latest and greatest uprights available from 888 and give them to GRM?

I wonder if the Boost money will stay with GRM?

GRM still has the current spec Supercars that would make excellent wildcard entries. Maybe TEKNO/Salmon will buy them.

Very sad to see Gary's team disappear from the grid.
Unfortunately it's possibly the beginning of the end.
Very well spoken by Gary - right from the heart as usual.
I think Supercars have been belligerent in their handling of his request particularly given the lateness of the problem.
Shame on them, again...

So the idiots who are running the series would rather see two less cars on the grid instead of giving Garry an extra couple of weeks to try and sort out a new sponsor.

About sums up how the series is going to end up

Might be time for all team owners to hand back their RECís and form their own series

I am very, very sad to see Garry and Barry leave the Supercars grid. GRM are one of the originals and Garry is one of the great characters and competitors of Australian Motorsport. I hope the TCR and S5000 programs keep the guys going long into the future.

Let's not forget the role that Holden and 888 have played in this. The fact that Holden allowed 888 to extort money from the other Holden teams to supply them with panels has been a factor in this, as has Adderton and Boost mobile.I won't forget.

Less rounds, less cars on the grid... pretty soon they'll tell us it was their plan to have 1 car doing 1 parade lap and then crown them as champion...
