yep. Nothing can be done sometimes. You send the wife, kids and pets away, stay behind and do your best just to end up standing there gripping your mate as tight as you can watching everything you have burns before your eyes, waiting there wondering if you’ll be here or not in the next few minutes. Insurance yeah right, it comes eventually, some lucky and get it quick others the paperwork gets lost time and time again and many mistakes from agents stallin the process.

I feel for all and hope it ends soon. Worst thing anyone can ever go through.

Unfortunately we've already had loss of lives in this round.
The whole of next week doesn't look very good either.
For mine, the respective governments have to tell the Greenies to get ****ed and go back to selective clearing and burning, particularly around housing.

Not defending greenies but the respective governments just don't care. If they did they would have gone ahead with clearing regardless.

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.

It's always been an issue. The government makes decision all the time that greenies hate but only on clearing issues the gov backs off?

Emergency services are always under funded and budget restricted. Oz is so fire prone you'd think that the government would spend more resources to deal with it. We can buy $100 billion subs, and fighter jets but balk at the purchase of a fleet of air tankers and modern equipment for the volunteers.

Had family lose their property in Bobin in NSW with another very close currently in old Bar. Biggest fear is with Tuesday, if they don't have those fires out by then, it's game over.

This next 3 months is going to be absolute hell.

One thing I do hope is that these fires naturally started, and not deliberately lit by some absolute piece of ****.

I live in Taree, and must say it's crazy what's going on. Thankfully there hasn't been any near my place, but I'm very aware of the risk, especially tomorrow. It's great to see the community get around and support the less fortunate. I've been informed that the evacuation centres have far more food and supplies donated than they can handle, and I've seen just little things like Friday afternoon, I was following an RFS truck on one of the main roads and someone coming the other way applauded them. Yesterday, following four of them, none with lights on, but everyone stopped to let them all through at a busy roundabout.

Sadly a bloke I work with has lost it all. He's an absolute ripper of a bloke, and was living in a shed at his mum's house at Caparra. On Friday they lost it all. They were determined to stay and fight, but thankfully they evacuated once his mum's house caught fire and headed for his shed. All they have left is her car, one of his five or six motorbikes, three of five cats and the clothes they were wearing. He posted a video to Facebook the other day of him returning home, and it's absolutely heartbreaking to watch.

CP, some little ********s went and lit a fire near the housing commission area the other day. And the little ****wits will probably get away with it too. Thankfully they got that fire under control fast.

An arsonist was found guilty up this way a couple of weeks ago.
He deliberately lit 3 fires which took a fair while to get under control.
He walked out of court with a $400 fine and 100 hrs community service.

Today has definitely been pretty ordinary conditions as predicted. So hot and dry. The sky has been that weird yellow smoky colour all day. Traffic on the main roads is light from what I've seen and the highway is closed again. Appears Wingham is at risk now. And sadly the WRC round at Coffs this weekend has been cancelled, but of course it's the sensible thing to do.

Thew weather and bushfires are certainly hard to predict. 10 days ago there was a large, out of control fire in the Great Lake area not far from where I live. Last weekend that fire area was covered in 6 inches of snow.
