If it was listed as an XC Falcon GT that would be incorrect

Might have been built from a Fairmont? But it was raced as a Falcon.... originally as an XB and then later an XC

Yep, no such thing as a Falcon XC GT, if thatís what f_c was getting at, but letís not split hairs. The cars that finished 1st and 2nd in Ď77 were Ford Falcons - and Fairmont are Falcons too.

..and restarted with the EB. The '77 Moffat cars were updated XBs, and the following year they became Cobras.
The one constant through any discussion about whether they were XBs, XCs, GTs or Cobras or anything else is that they were Ford Falcons.

Hope you're building a very nice model car collection.

No rectangular headlights mate. There certainly was a XC Falcon GS 2 door and i'm sure i've seen that in reference to the 77/78 XC (pre Cobra) cars.

I was around back then but I honestly don't recall Holden using the Vacationer as a homologation special?

I'd liken the Cobra to the A9X, a homolgation special released to introduce the reverse bonnet scoop and a few mechanical upgrades to strengthen the driveline (excluding the engine IIRC).

A Falcon was also first across the line in the 1962 race at Phillip Island.
