New video every two weeks

Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TrKewO56IQ

Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBNp8usiSuc

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.

Really enjoying these videos. Great insight from Todd. Can't wait to see the boys fire up the new engines on the dyno.

To dare is to do.

Looking forward to see how the Kelly's engine package goes against other tried and tested combos.
Those Nissan heads were pretty trick by the sounds of it, completely designed in-house (probably the most Aussie donk on the grid).
So you'd think they'd have some nous when giving the D3 (as I found out) a crack.

Does it also suggest that Heimgartner will get the 'spare' Altima chassis (that they've pulled off all the tackwelds of Altima gear), and Rick the brand newy? But both essentially brand new.

I reckon the ole' home workshop could use a few of those machining toys.

I have liked these videos whenever I have seen them come up on speedcafe or youtube.

I'm still a bit of a novice on the technical aspects of this series so it is cool to see Todd break down various things both with their old cars as well as the Mustang. The video where he explains Rick's engine failure from this year was particularly good.

Really enjoying this. Could never warm to Rick but Todd has always been fairly likeable.

Some of that stuff they have designed for the engine is just mint.

You can understand why they have to reign the costs in when you see some of the gear they're making

"triggered" Can we have a translation . Please explain.
...........................................................

In earlier episodes, we were informed that there was a new chassis being built.

We were shown how they were removing Nissan specific bits from the spare never completed chassis.

However the latest press release reveals that:

quote:
Heimgartnerís 2020 Mustang was revealed this week as Kelly Racing unveiled new title sponsor Ned Whisky, which has agreed a multi-year deal with the team.

The car is not set to turn lap until Supercarsí pre-season test at The Bend Motorsport Park on February 18.

Team-mate Rick Kelly is however set to shakedown his brand new Mustang chassis prior to the test.

Both of these chassis have never raced and when completed, would be entitled to shakedown testing.

Does this mean that the NED car is actually a third car converted from a previously raced Nissan?

Even so, I am surprised that it is not allowed a shakedown.

Whoops forget the reference.

They borrowed the Mustang for the livery reveal.

Yes kudos to the Kelly Racing Team for allowing us into the inner sanctum & giving us a glimpse into what it takes to build these new Mustangs.
Very smart, well done.

For great racing just add water.

Really enjoying it also. Gives a great insight to what goes on in the background and how much gear is in the workshop. Whilst having all the gear doesnít translate into success, I would imagine not having a fair amount of what the Kellyís have would translate into limited success. Sure, you can buy in a lot of the completed parts but being able to develop your own must be better.

Great vids and information Todd.

From viewing that chassis many aspects are a lot more detailed than I imagined and it's very hard to understand how they can be repaired so quickly.

Interesting to note Todd's comment about ensuring they don't add half a kilo of unwanted paint so as to keep it as light as possible.

Makes me wonder whether it's also standard practice for drivers to be told to take a dump before each race
