So yesterday New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that NZ would enforce 14 day self isolation of any one entering the country from midnight tonight (sunday 15th). This would mean teams and drivers would be required to be in nz by the 9th of April just a few days after Tasmanian Round, will/should they now can the NZ Round or will they make teams and drivers arrive early with cars arriving ad per schedule. Smaller teams will struggle to prepare the cars in time without key staff (if they are required to be in nz)
The restrictions are going to be reviewed on 30th March, at which point maybe they'll be extended until mid-April and would then have to be extended a 2nd time to affect the NZ round. If no cases are showing up in early April there might be a chance. Depends on the global situation really.
PM hinted restriction could last 6 months???? who knows seeing cannot really race without spectators like footy [ 500 more in teams officials etc] season could be a case of rolling cancelations. Restriction might be relaxed in reverse order they were imposed BUT when is the key and I believe no one is putting any date on it yet. I am hearing China infections are dropping???
