You could use the toilet in the restaurant underneath Rydges on the outside...there was a line of portaloos on the inside.

Bit disappointed I didn't go again this year. Chucked the recorder on to cover it all day. Started watching about 10:30 in the morning. Finished about 9:30. Shame there was no real battle at the end, but there was certainly plenty through the day.

seems there is a move to change the performance of the Audi - just for Bathurst. (other cars and other tracks to follow?)
http://www.speedcafe.com/2016/02/09/sro-to-investigate-bathurst-audi-bop-figures/

Moving further away from the imagined purity, and towards entertainment? Or just appeasing a manufacturer?

It would be a pointless exercise in finding what the BoP issue was with the Audi as the Bathurst 12 Hour is the last race run to the previous years Balance of Performance.

The track closest to the nature of Mount Panorama is the Nurburgring and during the 24hr, they were speed limited to 250kmh so they really haven't got a decent baseline to work from.

The same spec car won at Daytona the weekend previously and has similar high speeds to that at Bathurst. As I said at the top of the comment, it would be pointless as the 2015 BoP is made redundant at the end of the month, and next years 12 Hour will be to 2016 rules.

Kinda like V8Supercars enforcing minimum pitstops at Sandown & Bathurst ever since 2013 because the Nissan's and Merc's were too thirsty....

The lack of chat is telling.

As an example, here is the level of chat relating to 1 NZ speedway meeting that occurred on the same weekend as the Bathurst 12 hour:
http://macgor.proboards.com/board/63/psuperstockteams2016

53 topics, nearly 2000 posts and still going. Hardcore fans.

Was that event shown live on National TV, with a good bunch of the members at the track and not at their computers posting on a forum?

You really are pushing some sort of barrow here surely....

There was 5 or 6 portaloos between the 2 hills at least he chase Sonic.
Note there is a lot of complaints this year, compared to prior years at the 12hr, must be because the v8s have taken over the running of the 12hr.
They are either worried about the 12hr becoming a success, or they plan to run these cars in the future in October....

No it wasn't shown on TV. It was live streamed at a cost of about $50 per day I understand. There were approx the same number of stream subscribers as there were spectators at the track. As viewers at home were using their computers to watch the stream, they were less likely to post on the forum than someone watching another event on FTA elsewhere.
The event is a sell out. Accommodation is booked a year in advance.

Just making a comparison of the popularity of some classes of motor racing. As others like to do.

That's on a forum dedicated to NZ speedway, though...I'm sure if this site was GT3 Central there would be a lot more topics and replies for the 12 Hour.

I use a shutter speed between 1/100 and 1/250, sometimes as long as 1/50 to get lots of blur. I used to use the lowest ISO possible but for the last few months I've been using ISO 800 as my standard as I've found it gives a crisper image. After that you just need to set the aperture to get the correct exposure.

Steady stance and just practice panning and matching the speed of the car...helps to take a burst of shots, at least one of them should be good. I'd suggest starting with a wider angle then zooming in as the shots get better.
