It's a real challenge to know who and what to believe sometimes. |

What a result in Brazil! Great to see Gasly and Sainz get their first podiums, even if Sainz had to wait a while after the race.
First time since USA 2013 that neither Mercedes nor Ferrari finished on the podium. |

ON THE STRAIGHTAWAY!
That's their season story so far. Crazy to think that Max will probably best the pair of them in the drivers standings. Neither of the Ferrari drivers were able to extract the maximum out of their cars - mainly due to their fumbling inter-team strategies.

Yes, a cracking race and it was good to see Ricciardo get into the points, albeit with a bit of luck as well.
So this brings me to the Gasly podium. I like the underdog nature of the whole story: demoted to Torro Rosso so Albon could get his seat. You also can't take his podium off him ever. Let's also not forget his grit and determination in not giving up. It's a good story.
But let's be realistic about this. Like a number of drivers, he benefited from other people's mistakes. I know people will say "coulda woulda shoulda" but until the last few laps of race, that podium was Albon's on more merit, the very same person who displaced him at Red Bull. Perhaps if the publicity was more around "I didn't think I'd get third, but I'll take it any way it's given," more than "I've been redeemed through my podium on merit," I'd probably have no issue. |
