The rain was on and off and made for some interesting racing on the Sunday.

Bob Muir's 4.7 litre Lexus powered V8 in Ozboss sounded absolutely fantastic and was great to see 9 cars turn up. Sure 9 cars isn't great, but its a big improvement from the shocking Calder Park turnout.

50minutes of 4 Lotus' wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but the man behind the category seems to have a few things in place that will see the competitors turn up in force at QSLD.

Miedecke repeated last year's effort in the wet race at Winton, winning comfortably in front of Searle who just couldn't get traction. Peter Kelly (who's car ran the 12 hour) struggled for grip, but came strong in the final race and almost reeled in Searle.

Handicapped Touring Car Challenge races provided a bit of action, Darren Saillard had a few off-track adventures while running in prominent positions. Although he did recover well from those spins to score respectable points (almost won the round from memory) in his first ever outing at Winton, and his first time driving the car in the wet.

The incident of the day goes to the Marchese turning (?) in on (slightly) Henning down the main straight on the opening lap in Intermarque. Henning was then violently turned to the right and slammed into another Maserati Trofeo, who was an innocent bystander, and both clouted the wall quite heavily. Henning had extensive damage!! And didn't look too pleased when getting out of the car, wonder what he said to Marchese later on...........?

Was an enjoyable weekend overall.

Very glad to hear about the F4000/F3000V6 whatever they call them now. Especially after all the rubbish they copped this past week. 9 cars though, thats not too bad compared to what we've seen in the past. There's gotta be heaps more in sheds across australia though!

<<<Follow me on twitter: @MotorsportVoice>>> I can be somewhat funny. And informative.
