I don't know about NSW, but I think the breakdown would be disproportionate. There isn't an even amount of cars within each class.

edit: Heading off to PI now. Some series are to be decided this weekend.

you down here too JR?

weather has been perfect... similar for tomorrow but a bit cooler (my phone app says)

just a day of hard racing for mine... got a Swift converting itself into a 3 wheeler at t6... few lazy spins but other than that it was a clean day that I saw...

looking forward to tomorrow and doing it all again

Yep. I was there both days. I enjoyed it more than normal because of the weather, and that it was miles better than the Shannons round a couple of weeks ago. I've got more to say on the racing, but I'm going to bed now.

edit: I was a pretty good weekend. I have a few comments to make. But since I can't make consecutive posts and don't want to write a long post. I'll just say it bit by bit.

First thing. Something ought to be done about the points. It's a bit hard for me to keep track of. CAMS have the "official" champ. But the series runs at Winton, and that counts for the club series points. I thought Jason Fankhuaser had IP in the bag, even with the broken wheel in race 2. But that's only for the CAMS points. IPRA standings were closer. I had no idea.

Well done to Fankhauser getting the IP series win anyway. IIRC, he hadn't won anything before this year. But knocked off the May Sandown meet for his first win. From nothing to everything in one year.

Speculation amongst the minimal spectators that Rod Raajtes (?) is doing something shonky with his car.

Pretty funny listening to the guy commentate the morning HQ race. He was about to finish up, before realising there was still one competitor who had yet to finish. The blue one, 1/2 a lap behind second last!

Fankhauser didn't get the series win, that was taken out by Daniel Vereker in the RX7.

That is the first time I have seen the 'cheapest vans' HQ on track... perhaps a new driver? he kept it clean which is always good to see.

lol... I didn't 'know' either JR, I follow a few of the guys who race in IPRA but have no knowledge of their point scoring system... only knew Daniel took the win as it showed up in my fb feed (he checks out my photos now and then)

Looking at the program. Vereker had no chance of getting it. Looking at the IP vic site. They've got a state and club champ. I'm going to assume that club points includes the AASA run meeting at winton.

Also. The Vees were their unusual race of 5-10 cars battling for the win.

No38 in fford was pissed that no88 spun in front of him at southern loop. He said he couldn't do anything about it and clouted him. Forcing him out for the rest of the day.

The Saloons were good. Especially the last race on sunday. Remembering Tim Rowse flog the field in April, I'm sure it was satisfying for some of the more frequent competitors to hassle him for the whole race this time. I was hoping the falcon could get him in the end. But he just missed out. Very good ending to a very good weekend.

edit: Brett Ramsey talking about the possibility of one of the Sandown vscrc meeting being cancelled due to the Top Gear meeting apparently heading down there. From 53:45

Personally, I'd much rather TG stay the **** away. But if it had to come, then I'd prefer the Shannons round get the flick. I'd prefer Island Magic be a stand alone, non-championship meeting. I's then keep it at 3 meetings. But instead of there being a "final" worth 3 times as many points, I'd make all heats worth the same points.

edit 15/11: Here's the vscrc site.

The link has the point scores, and has Jason Fankhauser as the winner. This must be different to a club series, which is what I think was spoken about before, as shown here.

edit: Having been to PI last weekend. I was musing what car I'd use in IPRA, but not the popular RX7 and Commodores. I was wondering, how you'd reckon a E70 Corolla would go? Is anybody familiar with someone who's run well in it at any time?
