I would suggest that Ricciardo's retirement was more from the after effects of his lap one excursion.

Three retirements for the first race of the year is quite low. One from suspension failure, one from whatever was damaged on lap one and Sainz's massive engine failure.

I dunno, would you have predicted a RBR overtaking a Ferrari on a straight?

I think it could be a pretty competitive season. With what looks like more power than last year, RBR could be hard to beat. I sure wouldn't bet against them winning Monaco.

I don't think Dan would have predicted that the Honda would be that good, or he'd have stayed put. And the relative lack of pace of Ferrari was a surprise, although Albert part does seem to be a Mercedes track.

Mercedes are blaming Lewis Hamilton's bad driving for his inability to catch Bottas.


Apparently he ran off the track and damaged his car on a kerb.
