Supercars is a commercial venture with racing on the side. It's about advertising and merchandising. There is money to be had to run the Ford over Holden.

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.

I hope they do run Mustangs. It will slow the Mustangs total average lap times and that muppet of an Irishman can't argue that all the Mustangs are faster than his Opels

If they're coming over to Ford then I hope they stay four cars. 8 Mustangs against probably 16-18 Commodores is a pretty crap balance. Personally though I'd like them to stay in Nissans.

Yeah if they change I'd definitely prefer Mustangs to even out the Commodores a bit. I'm still hoping for 4 Nissans next year with the current Altima shape.

To dare is to do.

A team wins with a 7 time champion in 2 different brands and the brand they switch to and the team are classed as cheats or havinag a significant advantage etc etc but a Ford can debut with all thier drivers improving on their qualifying and finishing positions on previous years massively and it's all because of 1 bloke doing a better job then the rest

And no I am not saying I am jealous or pissed off, I actually applaud Penske and the way they have interpreted the regs, in my opinion it would be better for the sport to let manufacturers/teams go all out rather then be heavily restricted but I think the claims that the mustang is equal to or worse then the ZB or Nissan is nothing other then stupidity.

No brainer for mine for the reason above.
Remember the Kelly's logo back when they started, southern cross and all.
It's a good stretegy to market themselves as 'V8' outback characters in the bustling touring car series.
They remind me a little of the Perkins outfit from the 90's (minus the success) - they just love things with engines.

The Mustang suits that image more than the Commodore.

Except its not a simple as that is it...

Up until the resurgence of DJRP, for many years, there was only 2 (Tickford and T8) teams constantly at the front with T8 usually the team to beat. The last few years, DJRP overshadowed Tickford and arguably, T8.

Last year, the ZB was introduced, all Holden teams reported it was easier to get into the setup window. We saw all but one Ford drop back in the pack and that one Ford was running a heavy muffler and had a driver who likes a taily car, the latter allowing him to run on min downforce in order to stay at the front challenging.

This would suggest the ZB was an improvement over the reasonably equal FG-X/VF and suggesting it wasn't would go against logic and be insulting RD/T8 and Wirth.

Ford had to play catch-up with the Mustang and obviously did so. This brought the other previously front running Ford team back into contention, ie back fighting T8 - a team that have been beaten by other Holden teams this year and are highly likely to be struggling to adapt to the single spring without the Ludo Guru they once had.

The Mustang is clearly not worse than the Nissan or ZB and certainly, at the beginning of the year, Ford built a superior race car to T8 but given the record number of adjustments already metered out this year, all in favor of the Nissan/ZB, one would have thought enough's enough, time for the Holden runners to do what they've historically told the Ford teams to do and do a better job.

I know it is not that simple and I also know that the Mustang is the superior car in the series.

I did not want any changes and I have heard from the mouths of 2 drivers and also 1 team principle that did not want mid season adjustments either and non are from Mustang teams surprisingly.

My opinion on these changes has always been the regs are the problem. Supercars is tuning a series based soley on individuals interpretation of a rule book because it is that unprofessionally written.

I also think that Scotty is the luckiest bastard in the series as thanks to Penske, their resources and their interpretation of the regs he is having a Stella year and is going to set some records that will never be broken.

I'd quite happily watch and support Kelly Racing in Mustangs however I would prefer them in V6 twin turbo'd stingers

My guess is that with the additional parity change in favour of one team owner, Todd and Rick would be more than happy now to switch to Mustangs. Would be good to see all 8 Mustangs qualify ahead of RD mobile road blocks!

It would be good if KR goes Ford and my belief is that fans would welcome such a move. Also it'd be great to see them running up front fighting the leaders.
