If during Bathurst, the Holden’s all swamp the top spots in prac/quali and still have good top speed (currently I feel this is even), then the adjustment might have been too favourable but achieved its purpose .

I’m not sure why Whincup needs to be looked at after the race. Looked fairly straightforward.

888 1st and 2nd currently(doubt it’ll stay that way) but perhaps the parity adjustment is a bit too much. Saying that as a 888/Whincup fan. Will wait for the weekend Bathurst to happen before judging, but an amazing improvement...

Honestly still scratching my head 68 laps later as to why it is a post race investigation for Whincup/Percat...

Also, side note, 15 out of 24 cars beat the previous race lap record from 2015.

It's simply, really. During the race penalty would have left JW at back of field, After race penalty, slap on the wrist, no positions lost!

No. He’ll get a X second penalty (15 or 30 is my guess)

Expert commentator Jessica Yates just reminded everyone that a precedent has been set at Tailem Bend for a drive through penalty.

He should have copped it during the race. The additional time may have even seen him go a lap down. Applying it post-race is literally half the penalty it should have been.

Doesn't sound like they even looked at his pit entry, despite it being remarkably similar to a certain Newcastle 2017 incident that decided a championship...

15 seconds will drop him to 6th. A much better position if he had been pinged earlier.

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.

As Roland said to the ford teams last year....just work harder....well done 888.....maybe Jamie and giz will be able to take the vacant board positions and totally destroy the sport ?

Correct. If he'd been slugged with it during the race, it would have been a serious punishment on a short track. He would have ended up using the safety car to get his lap back, not to leapfrog others to the front.

Driving through the pits won’t put you a lap down. Stopping in the pits for 10+ seconds can, though.

A quick penalty is a good penalty (when correctly applied) it means instant punishment is served AND the guilty person still has a chance to race and redeem themselves. If there had been a safety car in the last 10 laps a 30 second penalty would’ve been way worse than if the drive through was applied on lap 3.

But that didn't happen, and it wasn't applied on lap three. Instead, he got to run up the front in clear air. There was a clear advantage gained by him not being penalised and by it being deferred to post-race investigation so early. I'm pretty sure everyone else copped their rulings during the race.
