Talk is he's on the out?

Red Bull want him.

Think he will see how competitive they are at the start of next year and make a call.

If he goes, Red Bull have an option on Sainz as a fall back

RIP LJ - loved and never forgotten.

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

The Peter Brock trophy is now where it belongs.

Definitely seems like Christian Horner wants to keep him

Dan has proven he can match Verstappen in equal machinery (and quite a few ex-champions are saying very good things about Max) so if Dan decides to switch teams he would definitely have a choice of prime seats to replace off contract drivers

So they're talking about major changes to the engines for 2019 or 20. The present ones are too expensive, they say. It's amazing, they haven't yet figured it out, it's the rule changes that make it expensive. The three manufacturers have invested squillions in this technology. Will making it all obsolete save them money? And time and again, when there's a major rule change, you end up with one team dominating. It's when you have stable rules for a few years that other teams become competitive. Which makes sense, as the initially dominant team chases diminishing returns, while the chasing pack can actually see where the goal lies.

The 2018 tyres have been named after toilet paper and male performance supplements. The softest tyre will be called hyper soft (which was a fan vote) and the hardest to become superhard. The standard hard tyre will now be blue.

Who knows, that might attract the part-time viewer.
