Both Porsches are now classed as DNF. Still, not a bad first year effort for Porsche.

Any word on what the issues are? Bit odd that they stopped within a lap of each other...

Gearbox for the 14, unsure of the problem with 20.

The good news is that Mark Webber didn't seem too upset about it when they interviewed him. He seemed more optimistic for the future, which was good to see. Timo Bernhard seemed a little more disappointed with the end result.

You are only classified as DNF at this race by closing the garage door or not crossing the finish line.

Porsche #14 crossed the finish line but was not classified as a finisher

Hmmmmmm, assuming that Nissan's P1 entry for next year is using similar tech to the ZEOD, this weekends race performance (yes it did perform well in practice and qualifying) didn't really give a great preview at all.

Wasn't the rules changed a few years back about completing 2 laps at the end and they must be under 6 minute laps. With the #14 sitting in behind the 2 Audi's for the last lap maybe they exceeded the 6 minute mark.

The Porsche only did 1 lap at the end which is why it wasn't classified. The 6 minute rule is really the "Emmanuele Pirro rule", as it came in the year after he crawled around at walking pace for the last lap, finishing well after the 24hr mark came up and annoyed the TV companies.

Was a shame to see the marshalls aren't allowed out to wave the flags on the last lap anymore.

Yeah - essentially by doing 1 outlap to finish his last lap was something around 80 minutes!

What's good though is that they allowed a full parade lap after the race.

I think all three LMP1 manufacturers should be proud of their weekend. Toyota should be proud to have been the pacesetters. Just bad luck for them. Audi should be proud to have scored a 1-2, and won yet again. They really do own Le Mans. And Porsche should be proud to have run as high as they did in their return, and having good reliability on car 20 until hour 22.

Would the garage location be a factor with Porsche not being classified, due to garage being located after the start/finish timing point?

Isn't the finish line right at the start of the pit lane, before all the garages? Similar to Homebush.
