Been Thinkin about the possible combo of the 12hr & Supercar launch , could have a Silver Lining thing Here : Supercar are STICKLERS for TRADITION , so one would assume that the Event would be free "YEEHAH" , The 12hr would Have to take place on the Saturday so Sunday could be used for the big field of 25 Supercars & the Rested up Drivers to test , or patrons to travel Home, also added Crowd numbers of the People in Black pants & White shirts (S) would add to the crowd numbers greatly.

Why can't they just let a rival event exist without messing with it?

GT in February, V8 in October... everyone's happy.

guess if the new news that he just wants to do a gala display v8sc could hire a tent out front in the merch area at Bathurst and let their cars sit proudly there while everyone enjoys the racing?

if they are only in charge of advertising/promoting that is one thing... if they are running the show then it is another...

Have already purchased Campground site for next year (offered to this year site holders ) , but tickets were not available , at that point I was apprehensive of the Events Future.
I for one was on the Bash Supercar / Management Bandwagon, over the poorly handled clash of events in Feb 15.
Supercar Events , now have an opportunity to quickly come out with
there intentions for All facets of the Event, and NOT in POLLIE speak.
May I humbly suggest that an offer of FAIR ticket pricing that Included an access all areas style that has been a TRADITION of the Event, would be a good first step , Then an Indication that this event will NOT become a CLONE Supercar event, it is about GT3 /GT4 Endurance Racing.

No doubt when the deal with Seven expires. But it's ok! We'll get an hour's worth of highlights on Ten late on the Sunday night.

Provided V8 Supercars doesn't play too much with the event by diluting it for the casual fan, playing with the very good ticket prices and making the GA tickets more restrictive (ie, no pit roof or paddock access) it might not be a bad thing although I have now noticed that the ticket section has now disappeared from the website.

I'd like to think that this is a positive for the 12hr event, but V8's have shown in the past that they don't play well with others, and they also put their interests before that of the sport as a whole.
Again, I'd like to think this is a good thing; prior actions are a pretty good indicator of future behaviours though...

Supercars isn't a sport.

Its a category of motor racing.

Exactly. We hope nothing will change....but knowing V8 Supercars I don't hold out much hope.

The one you've got to be filthy on is O'Brien. What a flake. With the 12h, he actually created the opportunity to control Australian motorsport for the rest of his life/career. But has sold out to the V8supermongs, thinking that those losers are needed. V8sc presence will mean one or both the 1000/12h will lose out. People save up to go to Bathurst once a year, but not twice. What a knucklehead!

It's also BS the notion the 12h needed v8sc drivers. Even the more popular ones aren't really that big a drawcard. The bigger F1 drivers would instantly boost numbers. V8sc drivers don't have that clout. The race would done fine without them
