The Arrow Motorsport Reveals Second Retro Livery

With just under a week to go until the 2017 V8CFL Retro Round at Sandown, The Arrow Motorsport has revealed the second of three retro liveries the team will run.

"We chose the 1994 DJR Shell Falcon because it was the last Shell sponsored car to win the Sandown 500. We're hoping to make the 23 year gap down to 0. We've got the right drivers, cars and strategy to do it." said TheArrow.

The final retro livery is expected to be released in the coming days, prior to the Sandown event.

The Arrow Motorsport and Supercheap Auto Go Back To The Beginning

The Supercheap Auto sponsored The Arrow Motorsport Mazda6 of Chaz Mostert have turned back time to the original John Briggs Supercheap Falcon from the late 1990s.

Joining the other two retro liveries, the famous #57 will be run alongside other retro liveries from other V8CFL teams.

There are rumours TAM may run these liveries through the Bathurst event in addition to the retro round at Sandown but these have not been confirmed.

No Second Prize

Jimmy Barnes is wrong. In 1984, he claimed there was No Second Prize. There is a second prize, and Hard Hitting Racing claimed in a very wet, and very entertaining Bathurst 1000 over the past weekend. The press officer has been a bit out of practice over the last few months, so this should also be a very entertaining release.

Scott Pye, driver of the #72N Hard Hitting Racing brought the car home in second on what was an unusually wet day at Bathurst.

"I'm surprised how well we went. I fell off the road a few times but then again, so did others. We played our cards right and as Skaifey would say, we bought a ticket to the final stint. I think it was a Gold Class one", said a slightly inebriated Scott.

A slightly more inebriated team owner in Craig Paterson said, "woooooooooooo, **** yeah".

We asked him for further comment when he sobered up. "Scott did very well to bring the Lift Hard Hitting Lemon Toyota Lexcen home in those conditions. I think he had massive 'nads on him to do what he did. I tried those conditions on Project CARS 2 and struggled. With our unique deal, we did very well for the Toyota brand who closed their factory during race week. I believe that Scott and the team can continue with those results for the rest of the year".

Hard Hitting Racing would like to thank their values sponsors Lift Hard Hitting Lemon, Toyota, Adidas Motorsport, Ice Watch, Dewalt, Sidchrome, Illest Brand, International Trucks, Aero Advanced Paint Technology, Uvex, Nulon and Nylex Water Tanks.

Hard Hitting Racing have promised new liveries but have failed to deliver thus far, however, it is quite likely we that we could see an international them for the Gold Coast 600. See you then.

HEARTBREAKING END TO INCREDIBLE SEASON

The Arrow Motorsport has endured a heartbreaking end to an incredible season with multiple race wins, podiums and top fives.

After receiving two penalties, driver of #56 clawed his way back to being one position away from clinching the title. Heartbreak was felt in the pits when contact with another driver resulted in a crash and subsequently a drive through penalty.

"It was absolutely gutting." said team owner TheArrow.

"It feels like we have stumbled at literally the last hurdle. We were so close!"

It was a return to form for the inaugural V8 Central Fantasy League Privateer's Cup Champion team after a long stretch of poor championship results.

"I cannot express how proud I am of everyone in this team. Everything we've achieved has been from the hard work the crew have put in this year. Even with the very busy off season we had [buying and moving to a new workshop, building three new cars] and I can't thank them enough. Here's hoping to a bigger and better season next year."

It is understood The Arrow Motorsport will be undergoing more changes next season. Rumours began circulating on Sunday morning that the team may be running in a different car next season. TheArrow had no comment to make.

ZB or not ZB?

That is the question running through the head of Hard Hitting Racing team owner Craig Patersons head as the team assess their options for 2018.

"At the moment, everything is up in the air" said CP. "Sponsors are waiting to be signed, as are drivers, but the bigger decision is what to run next year".

Hard Hitting Racing do have their Nissan Altimas, but their unique Holden Commodore Toyota Lexcen is no longer in the teams hands. When quizzed on this, Craig had this to say: "Yeah, the Toyota is no longer in our hands. It was a fresh build at the start of the year and it was getting slightly tired towards the end of the year. Some people have suggested that we have scrapped our 1 of 1 car, but I can assure you we haven't scrapped it, but we haven't sold it either. It does have new owners though".

The Lift Hard Hitting Lemon Toyota Lexcen is now owned by Toyota Australia and will split its time between the Toyota headquarters and the National Motor Racing Museum in Bathurst. "It's a cool idea from Toyota and we were more than happy to support what they wanted to do it. What it does mean is that the car won't be racing next year as it was only a one year deal with Toyota's backing anyway. It is now historically significant and I'm quite certain the Toyota execs and museum visitors will get a great kick out of seeing the car. We may get it back at some point when these current CoNs become.........historic".

Hard Hitting Racing have Nissan Altimas that are ready to go for 2018, but building and racing new Holden ZB Commodores aren't exactly out of the question either. "Yeah, we may run Commodores, but that decision may come down to what factory backing we can get. As for the Altimas, they are a known quantity with or without factory assistance. Who knows what we'll run next year. The final result may be surprising when the official V8CFL test day rolls around. It's possible that we could race a twin turbo V6 Holden Camira".

Hard Hitting Racing would like to thank their valued sponsors Lift Hard Hitting Lemon, Toyota Australia, Sidchrome, DeWalt, Ice Watch, Illest Brand, Adidas Motorsport, Aero Advance Paint Technology, International Trucks, 360 Fly, Uvex, Nulon and Nylex Water Tanks for their support this year.

We wish our Hard Hitting fans a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hope to see you all again in 2018.
