Perhaps!

I'd rather see 2 x Mobil 1 HSV Racing with young guns Hazelwood and Heimgartner as the pilots. :)

Normally due diligence would require financial confirmation of the deal. This would apply to most higher paying, longer term contracts I would think.

If Chas was going to WAU you would think that his management team would have completed the due diligence in regard to ongoing viability of the payment source.

That's not to say that WAU don't have a completely different sponsorship arrangement for the next season.

It was a tongue in cheek, throw away comment fella....but thanks anyway!

Not a problem bloke. I thought your comment was pretty silly anyway. I was just embellishing on it. (Just tongue in cheek).

How would Supercheap go on the WAU cars if they did switch given that Castrol seems to have pretty much always been on Supercheap cars, so with Mobil, would that be a problem, or would Supercheap be cool with having Mobil instead?

Not being from down under, I went to the Supercheap Auto Parts website. They do not stock Mobil 1. Interesting point, DJRford.

I was also taken aback at the average prices for a 5 liter jug, too. About twice as much as we pay here. My heart goes out to you motorheads.

You can absolutely guarantee it that wherever Chaz is going Supercheap is too. Chaz is arguably the 2nd most in-form driver in the field right now, he’s hot property, and Supercheap is committed to Supercars so it’s a natural pairing.

I still reckon Chaz will show up at 888 in a third car though rather than WAU.

People have been spinning the 3rd car crap for a few years, Chaz is on his way to be past which has hurt his options a little.

Mobil 1 is not popular in Australia. It's basically a specialty oil here and horrendously overpriced (as you noticed). It's expensive because they ship it from half way around the world.

Supercheap has tiny stores spread throughout suburbia - they only sell popular brands and only reasonably priced ones.

Expensive? It's of the similar price of it's full-synthetic high performance competitors. Check the top of the line Penrite's (10tenths) etc against Mobil, all similar give or take.

Wonder if Mega have paid up to date or if WAU has been self funding which is why there has been no upgrades etc. Hopefully they find a backer that can afford Chaz and the other new driver.

Regarding oils, full price Mobil 1 is on par with others of same quality however most other brands are linked to major outlets with regular 30-50% off deals which is why people purchase them and they are cheaper.

Mobil is more popular than people think, especially in Victoria, as every 7 eleven is actually a Mobil

Maybe this is the start of the “pathway to the front” we are hoping for.

Since 7eleven purchased retail stations from Mobil with a provision that they continued to sell Mobil oils, for a period of time, that is not really surprising.
