I'm looking forward to seeing how American racing culture shows up in the hardest challenge in Aus domestic motorsport. The less benefit in training/practice, the better.

We saw years ago with the Priaulx/Ekstrom combination were terrific, particularly Ekstrom who just turned up. Yvan Muller was excellent when he ran.

But that's from a European racing culture. This'll be an American racing culture, so it'll be interesting for me to note whatever relative weaknesses/strengths they have.

Considering they had Triple Eight and Ludo on their side I'm not sure we can hold this year's wildcard to the same standard.

We're all here, we're the Bathurst boys; and you can't hear Richo above the noise...

You think I didn't account for the fact they were in a 888 car? I did and they were still great.

One of the negatives of running a wildcard was said to be the lack of testing.

KBR have been allowed two full days testing after their shakedown.

WAU wildcard drivers will get the same allocation.

except Muller had run in 2000/2002 with TWR(HRT then Kmart) and Priaux had run in 2002/3 with Kmart so they had track experience at Bathurst and some idea on how to drive the big aussie V8.

Ekstrom was the real standout that day and they could have well earnt 3rd. interesting that they ran the flat wing slower over the top but couldnt be passed down the straights, a great strategy.

Im really looking forward to seeing Rossi race, just hoping one day Scott Dixon will get a run!

I'd be very surprised if the Hinchcliffe/Rossi thing makes it to the end just from the lack of engineering prowess at WAU combined with lack of experience from the drivers... or they'll be 3 laps down just from lack of pace

Dixon has raced in Supercars before with Kelly Racing at Surfers back in 2010 so its not out of the realm of possibility.

Scott Dixon was born in Brisbane, so it would be good to see him race Supercars Wildcard and enduros in the land of his birth, even if he allegedly identifies as a NZ'er and lives in America.

NAPA Auto Parts announced as the WAU's #27 main sponsor, along with Virgin Airlines.
A parts distributor is the U.S. and recently expanding to Australia, and on the Erebus cars.

I actually bought a magnetic sump plug from them not 12mo ago - as we enter the great shortage of genuine GM/Holden parts in Australia.

Not quite, NAPA and REPCO have the same parent company, Genuine Parts Company (GPC)

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.
