If you want to start an Alan Jones thread, I'll join in, but now back to undertaker's Prime Minister...

ah ok just deflecting from the facts at hand by attacking the author then

If by "the facts at hand" and "the author" you're referring to Alan Jones again: A fulltime fact-checker couldn't keep up correcting the "facts" he spouts, but Alan Jones is unless referring to his misogynistic comments about Jacinda Ardern.

Maybe not, but she is the Prime Minister of New Zealand.

If you think leading a minority party means her Prime Ministership isn't legitimate, then Australia's Prime Minister isn't a legitimate PM either. He leads a minority party that won 27.99% of the vote, but with assistance from three other parties won government with a total of 41.44% of the vote - a drop from the vote his party governed with previously. He does have a majority in the House of Reps, though: 77 seats out of 151. One seat over a hung parliament.

Ireland has a minority government (has had since 1977), so has Denmark and Sweden, Italy (as usual), The Netherlands and Great Britain (led by a PM who hasn't faced an election).

Oh, you mean you wish she'd do more! Excellent! You must be conflicted though, supporting more action on climate change while supporting that off-topic misogynist bloke.
Give her a chance. She is doing more on climate change, but her government has only been in power for less than two years following a decade of not much happening on climate change under a Nationals government.

not real sure what you're issue is..but yes clearly if she is concerned about the environment she should do more..and look after her own backyard before pointing the finger at other countries

Where did you get that figure from? For what period, or for what year is it calculated? Is it total emissions (usually measured in millions of tonnes) - or per capita (usually measured in tonnes)?

Here's some figures for you:

Total CO2 emissions, 2017

Australia: 556.4 million tonnes
New Zealand: 80.9 million tonnes

CO2 emissions per capita, 2017

Australia: 18.30 tonnes (11th in the world)
New Zealand: 7.69 tonnes

New Zealand's figures are high (although per person, less than half of Australia's) because of the high ratio of grazing animals (cattle and sheep) per capita. Grazing animals add a large percentage to the total emission figures, but I don't think many of us want to wipe out the dairy, wool and meat industries.

These figures are for the year 2017 (2018 due out soon), the year Jacinda Ardern was elected, so I don't think even the most rabid anti-Jacinda person can hold her responsible for them.

She ain't my primer minister, Zac. She isn't even the elected head of New Zealand, she leads a minority party with the assistance of that lunatic Whiney Peters. He who wasn't interested in the baubles of power. However, when they were offered, he politely declined. No he didn't they were grabbed with delight by Mr 7%. New Zealand is being governed by the most ineffective prime minister since Bill Rowling, and that's saying something. The sooner she ****s off to be Adolf Helen's lapdog at the United Nations, the better New Zealand will become!

The alternative was Peters aligning with National - so we could have a National led minority government with Bill English as an unelected prime minister.

In fact we don't elect prime ministers. We elect MP's and have a party vote.

You have to go back to 1951 to find an election where any party got more than 50% of the vote.
We've had minority governments ever since.

Jacinta is just the elected leader of a small Pacific Island state and therefore not really important in World events.

Australia cannot anymore expect any support from these Pacific Island States.
