Scotty would do better in NASCAR than Ambrose right now, purely because the cars are easier to drive these days.

Supercars would need someone to step up, because even when he's dominating, he's entertaining.. to most.

Surprised this hasn't been brought up.
Anyone have the issue and want to expand on what happened? I did see on his socials he went to/back from America for what seemed to be a day but didn't think anything of it.

He went faster than Will Power.......on a simulator only. Never drove the actual car

Nothing story

Dunno about the article, but his wife is from New York and they head over there to visit family often.

Every driver on the grid would jump at any opportunity to drive an indycar and since the car isn't sponsored by Shell they might not be allowed to have any publicity around the drive.

I don't think it confirms or denies anything. Also if he does switch to ovals, I'm pretty sure it will be tin top cars based on what he's said in the past.

As long as sponsor don't conflict there shouldn't a problem.

Isn't Scotty in the US getting married this week?

Ford fans be proud. History of Australian motor racing shows Ford has been and will always be superior. They have to slow them down when they get serious about racing. The Phase 4 scared the **** out of people, they banned it. Sierra gets called on a technicality, Falcon EF "...had its wings clipped to make Holden part of the show", AU not allowed to show it's potential, Falcon BF gets clipped. Mustang Is so good Supercars made up a rule and gets a bag of cement in the roof, and it still wins.

Not to say he'd never do IndyCar, but it should be noted that McLaughlin never did open wheelers when he was younger due to the risk relative to tin tops.

I remember he said at Sandown Premat would be at his wedding - might be a bit more awkward now than it would have been before last week!

Yes, he talks about that in his Rusty's Garage episode if anyone wants to hear more.

We're all here, we're the Bathurst boys; and you can't hear Richo above the noise...

They are good mates and Premat would know itís a business decision from the blokes calling the shots.

Iíve asked Scotty about leaving tin tops before and his response pointed toward its being highly unlikely. Nascar is where he'd prefer to head.

Penske could give him a try in an Indycar for fun, as a perk of being part of the organisation. But I can't see him being a serious force in open wheelers.

I would be happy for him to stay here for the next two years, win the championship & Bathurst.

For great racing just add water.
