You need to read up on the TCR regulations.

Nothing purpose built about TCR cars. Not as production as a Bathurst-winning Mini of course, but very much a production based touring car.

I might grab one, put some rego on it and take it touring around the country side.

It’s disappointing Ford Motorsport are blocking the Kelly’s from the sport, says a lot.

Yep.

I'll delete it once Fbf acknowledges the post.

No I didn't.

But anyway, I was reading the latest copy of Auto Action, and there's an interesting article on page 11 about the broadcast arrangement with 7. The coverage is mainly going to be on 7 mate and flix, but suggested that during the winter that it'll be on the main channel as a lead in to AFL footy. The coverage being broadcasted for 11am-2pm aest.

This is a pretty interesting move from my pov. I wouldn't have picked for that to occur, and accepted that it would be screened on the affiliate channels. I haven't been paying attention to what 7 did in between the Sunday football shows and the afternoon game, but I think it was a mix between random programming and VFL?

I don't thin the earlier finish is as bothersome for tcr as it would be for v8s. The main channel is best to reach a wider demographic, and it doesn't really ruin the event for the track attendance, like it would for v8s. They can presumably continue to watch the support races following, or have the option of going home early.

I like it the idea.

The Clemente/Wurth Honda looks excellent.

However, I am somewhat shocked at the budget possibly expended on a fancy livery. Two people, days minimum, plus fares, just to install the livery, plus the many hours to create the livery.

The 20-year-old’s livery, designed by Check it Out graphics, features fluoro highlights to match the branding of major backer, Wurth.

“I absolutely love it. Asher and Simon from Check it Out have done a killer job,” said Clemente.

“They came in from Adelaide on Friday and worked on it all of Friday and Saturday and they’ve done a brilliant job.

A nice 2 year deal too. Keep him in the loop come enduros for a while yet.
Wonder if there'll be a performance difference between the Afla and Renault?

There are a number of other cars in Australia or already here.

quote:
Inaugural TCR Australia Series champions HMO Customer Racing could run as many as four cars in the 2020 TCR Australia Series.

HMO, Hyundai Motorsport’s official Australian importer of its successful TCR machinery, is making plans to grow from two cars to three, or possibly four, after its success in the inaugural season that saw Will Brown claim the title honours.

While the make up of the driver line-up is not officially locked away, team owner Barry Morcom has his sights set on entering more cars if the right deals could be put together.

The team has recently secured another new i30 N racer that will take the total number of the vehicles in Australia up to six.

TCR Australia rules currently limit the total number of entered cars in any race meeting at five per brand, although Barry Morcom says that the intention of the new vehicle is simply to act as a spare.

“The sixth car has been ordered and is going to come into Australia around February next year,” said Morcom.

“The idea is that we will use this as a spare car, just in case one car gets damaged and can’t be turned around in time for the next event.

“We are geared up to run three cars. At a pinch we could do four, but we are comfortably ready to run three, and that is intention for next year. If we can get a couple of deals across the line, we will have three cars at a minimum on the grid.”

Garage 1 said they had another Cupra on the way.

Is there any word on the fate of the ex-Kelly Astras. I would love to see GMH provide support, including money, for a Holden Young Lions type team. KBR would be a good fit.
