Given is still depends of state Gov and its 4+ months away and camp ground and grandstand tickets already sold a decision can be made as late 1st September by SC its too hard to call what the states are thinking IF numbers sty good June/July my guess pretty good chance, but if they spike too much maybe no chance but am thinking positive. They could have said outright NO crowds but left the door open.
Chairman of the peoples republic of Victoria WILL make his own call.
Les hope if they say NO they can hold over the bookings for the campgrounds and grandstand seats for 2021

Iím booked to fly NZ-GC in August then GC-Sydney for the night race.... do I try change that flight to Townsville and hope 1. That my trip doesnít get canceled (if it does should get a credit or refund) 2. Hope the state boarder restrictions are lifted and crowds will be aloud At Townsville? Or 3. Try change the trip to Bathurst in October on the hope thereís crowd allowed and we have a trans Tasman bubble by then?

If the bubble is in place that's good, as for crowds at Townsville same problem as Bathurst, its not definite either way YET, possibly best to leave as late as possible???? and have back up plan of Bathurst many airlines will allow altering tickets?

Yeah if we canceled the trip now we donít get a refund or a credit. Have to wait for the airline or travel agent do it.. the travel agent does a Bathurst package tho... just got to play the waiting game

It is currently illegal for any race to be held with spectators, and no decision has been made yet on when that restriction will be lifted. And when restrictions are lifted they always warn it might be reversed.

I would call the airline or travel agent, tell them what's going on, and ask them to cancel the flight you've got with a credit to book some other flight of equivalent value in the next 12 months or so. And I'd book those flights as late as you can possibly get away with incase it changes.

Remember, the Grand Prix was cancelled so late there were drivers fully suited up to drive out onto the track. That's unlikely to happen again, but it is possible if there's an outbreak close by to the race track (or even worse, at the race track).

they would never know for days afterwards if it was at the track. but three months worth of waiting before they will call it off/on as it gets closer we will get a better idea, if numbers still remain stable and low good chance but if there are spikes or increase then its not looking good, SC just being optimistic which s good

I wouldn't be making any plans to attend any races this year.
For one, things need to remain stable in terms of virus numbers.

And two, the calendar can/might/will [pick one (the third one )] change at short notice. Probably more than once.

Supercars isn't a sport.

Its a category of motor racing.

I am hearing footy are trying to get crowds back very soon and maybe capping the number 20,000 in a 80,000 capacity stadium etc I wonder if SC would consider this? how would it go at Bathurst??? how would decide [ like Bathurst] who gets in?

It's called tickets.. xxx amount of tickets get sold & then it becomes soldout. No ticket, no entry!

Interestingly footy is say 1st of July they want crowds. Hopefully crowds are allowed to Supercars soon as well.
