Shane is just a regular bloke who loves his racing more than anything! When he’s not racing v8’s he’s on the simulator racing, or watching racing, or riding motorbikes. Sure he might have his moments and throw wobbles but who doesn’t. He’s always trying to do his best at SBR and the fact that he is so competitive is what pushes him to be such a talented driver.
He’s always looking for ways to help out the community too, Has helped out the royal children’s hospital, done the Kids in cars day in NZ, the Ronald McDonald house and many more!
And to the person that said Shanes dad has his 2009 car in nz ? Shane is still racing that car!
Agreed.
He is a quiet and shy person. Some may think that is stuck up ut the guy is just shy.
I remember him at bathurst 2007 when no one knew who he was. I was walking through the vrowd and so was he. I think I was the only one who knew who he was walking through the crowd. He looked scared and nervious.
Too many people here treat out drivers like womans weekly articles. They are drivers! How cares if they are shy, confident, loud or quiet.
The only reason he would be hated is because he is doing what others can't. He is likely to get someones seat and the best they can do is bag him.
Shane - You are awesome and there are many here who support you! |

Ok. Who has actually read the article? I have and no where does it say that Jason hates him. He did make a comment on the "overtaking" that SVG and JC did on everyone on the outlap at Townsville. He said that "He and Courtney made idiot out of themselves" in regards to breaking the gentlemens agreement. Many others have spoken out about this. And according the article, Jason called him "cocky". The commentators have said the same too. So it was quoted that " there are plenty of drivers who have him in their sights because they either owe him one or just don't like him". I don't see anywhere Jason saying he hates him or is going to punt him off. As per usual, many jump on the band wagon just to show their hatred for Holden and their drivers without knowing the facts or even reading the article. Plus don't forget that it did appear in the daily telegraph and written by James phelps. Was any of this actually said and he used a bit of poetic licence to make a story a bit more juicy. If what in this paper is gospel, Jnr Johnson is entering Bathurst in a Holden (as reported in Saturdays daily telegraph pg 126) |

The headline descirbes van Gisbergen as the most hated...whether or not that is accurate we do no know. However much of the debate on this forum is about Bright unnecessarily bringing up trivial crap in the mainstream news, and in particular having a dig at van Gisbergen.
Whether or not Bright is correct is yet to be known, however I think he has made himself look silly, and van Gisbergen feels he was the victim of what Bright said by issuing a reply via facebook. |

Why would Bright say it if its was untrue and make himself look silly. Who would do that? Its not like Bright will get anything out of it either.
Maybe Brights been hanging out with Morris and learning a few tricks! |

His main gripe, though, is that along with Courtney, he broke the so-called agreement about not breaking ranks in qualifying....
Is that like the agreement that drivers made at bathurst in 2005, that it would be up to you if you wore the BALACLAVA or not......
Dont go away mad jason, just go away... |

| The problem with the balaclava issue, was despite the drivers agreement it is an CAMS/FIA ruling that they must wear the balaclava! You cannot even compare the two issues! |

Fair enough if there was an agreement and another driver/team brought the issue up to stop Ambrose.
But from another view, are these 'gentleman's agreements' decided by a majority vote, or 100% consent to the agreement? If it is majority (I would assume this) then who is to say that Courtney and van Gisbergen did not agree...therefore as part of the minority they have every right to buck the trend and do what they feel is the best for their team. |
