Throughout the 80s and mid-90s, before NASCAR really took off on the television networks, the sanctioning body had, and used a term frequently called EIRI - Except in Rare Instances. This rule basically was they could do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted and their ruling was final. There was a rough outline for a rule book, but in racing there are so many line and ball calls you cannot possibly have a rule for everything.

This might be an instance where the Supercars leaders have no rule for, simply because no one had ever thought that a season could be brought to a complete end during these modern times.

NASCAR is (was) much more of a dictatorship than Supercars. However, with a vote here and a yay or nay there, I think they (Supercars) can pretty much do whatever they want in this case.

They could give Scotty the trophy and he could pull a class move and give it right back and tell them to save it for the guy who wins the next year.

Or he could put it in his trophy case.

I had this exact thought yesterday as I gear up for the right of refusal opening tomorrow.
Don't really want to pay for something I may not be able to attend, but also don't want to lose the campsite.
Ticketek are notoriously bad at this too. Supercars and Ticketek always point the finger at the other once a problem comes up.

Will be sending an email off tonight - if I hear back from them I'll be sure to let all on here know.

Well guess what I just received in the mail ??? my grandstand tickets for Bathurst I hope I get to use it

Thanks!

We're all here, we're the Bathurst boys; and you can't hear Richo above the noise...

They could award the Supercars title, if they wanted without any issues. But as it stands, the ATCC wouldn't go with it.

At what point will they cancel the 2020 season?
According to falcon_cobra there won’t be any racing until after the end of next year?

They wont until all options have been exhausted. I believe they will have a rolling cancelation/postponement policy. As each date come around they will cancel entirely of postpone if they can. will depend on how long the shut down goes for some say 3 months at least. maybe 6 which is Bathurst lets hope its over by then

I think they're probably going to bridge this year and next year as one 'season' going by this fanciful statement from Sean Seenma-bestdays.

So they’ll have a “Bathurst 2000” then going by your logic

https://www.news.com.au/finance/economy/australian-economy/coronavirus-new-modelling-reveals-australians-could-be-locked-in-isolation-for-months/news-story/221c5a7b21cc8dadb997ac5b6a51ba05

According to this report, with lockdown suggested until end of October?

Would surely write off the whole Supercar 2020 season?

Nope. They can follow the NRLs lead and have all the remaining rounds on some far away island.
