Newcastle Results are up.

In the V8CFL, Madaz and A-Tech Motorsport has blasted all competition to clinch the title. Hats off to the BMW M3 gang!

In the individual races at Newcastle, our podiums were:

Race 1:
1 The Arrow Motorsport / TheArrow / Mazda6 GL
2 RCD Motorsports / V8SuperRiley / Ford Falcon FG X
3 Red Bus 151 Motorsport / SportsExtra Motorsport / Ford Falcon FG X NZST

Race 2:
1 Sideways Racing / Brightman / Holden Commodore ZB
2 Heavy Metal Racing / Motley Blues / Ford Falcon FG X
3 The Arrow Motorsport / TheArrow / Mazda6 GL

In the Tournament, despite the banter and hand shaking above concerning who won, The Arrow Motorsport and TheArrow have prevailed over Sideways Racing and Brightman.

I will explain: Even though this came down to The Arrow Motorsport's 15 and 17 cars against Sideways Racing's 25 and 97 cars, Sideways Racing's cars did in fact outpoint The Arrow Motorsport's cars. However, due to the 15 car of Rick Kelly finishing so low in Race 2, he became The Arrow Motorsport's sixth car. Only the Top 5 are scored. So The Arrow Motorsport did not have to use the 54 points garnished by the 15 car. Instead, they used the 78 points collected by their fifth finisher, the 2 car of Scott Pye.

So, by Ricko's total ineptness in Race 2, he got The Arrow Motorsport their championship in the Tournament! Always "controversy" at Newcastle it seems.

Rumour has it Ricko has already sent and autographed poster to TheArrow to put up on his wall to commemorate their accomplishment at Newcastle.

Hats off to all! See you next season. Once again, I will step forward and tally the points unless someone else wishes to give it a go with a new, different, or same format.

Cheers from the cold USA!

Mike

P.S. A post race points penalty of 30 points was levied against the 18 car in Race 2 for an uncontrolled tyre in pit lane. That was the only post race penalty not reflected in the rundown on the supercars.com website and is reflected in the V8CFL points tally for said race.

Just when the 18 car finally had a good round, too....

Wow, now I feel bad, like I've taken the win away from you! Sorry about that! Looks like we were both caught off guard by the 5 out of 6 cars regulation. Is this the first time a Mazda has won the tournament? That, along with finally getting a win at the home race, has really redeemed what started out as a tough year and only resulted in a top 6 in the points after battling for the win last year.

Bring on 2019!

Thanks Mike, as always, a fantastic job.
Will have to try and chase down Madaz next year.

I'll get cracking on a livery of the year comp soon. Got a bit caught up in being at Newy, didn't get a chance.

Haha, all good mate. I guess thats what you get when you celebrate early haha.
Like yourself, I totally didn't think about how the 6th car would play in the battle.
Congratulations on the win.

I was a little sad when no one commented on my VF-Sierra.

After a horror Bathurst it was good to bounce back with a "round" win in Newcastle!

Red Bus Racing will retire the falcon next year and bring in something a little different

See you all in 2019 and congratulations to our winners Madaz and TheArrow
