schedule should be on thenationals.com Joe...

OT... I am seriously underwhelmed by the size of the SC grid... TCR has almost as many for their first outing and should grow from here... so why would they be afraid of SC? They should be taking the challenge up to their front door!

Looking at the lap times, they don't like that much slower than a Supercar at EC, only off by 5-6 secs.

I know there is no Ford in the Australian version, but is there Focus's in overseas categroies?

Apparently no Fords, unfortunately, because I think they would do well to Focus on this world wide category. Surely they have a car with a 2 litre turbo engine that is at least 4.2 metres long.

I fear the Kelly's will have their work cut out for them with the model's they have elected to run

Rod Salmon is running a series in the AMRS that has TCR cars eligible... the ARG-run CAMS series has blocked their entries from competing in the AMRS series and has said any cars racing in the AMRS cannot run in the CAMS series..... i'm assuming this might be what Sonic means?

yup got it in one :)

As JR says, Group A was a different kettle of fish, it was still the ATCC and carried over all the big names and teams from Group C plus some new entrants

TCR is starting from scratch just as Super Touring effectively did in 1994/95

Put T8, Penske, Tickford etc... in the field with SVG, Whincup, Scotty Mac et all at events like Adelaide, Supercheap 1000 or the GC600, and the response would be as normal, just like the switch from Group C to Group A in the ATCC

Went to SMP to watch qualifying and Race 1 today.

The cars look and sounds great. Really good variety of manufacturers and drivers.

Fairly close racing throughout the field.

James Moffat's Renault shat itself on the grid and did not start the race.

Jason Bright (VW Golf) and Tony D'Alberto (Honda Civic) took P1 and P2 and look to be the drivers to beat.

I was disappointed in the engine note on the live stream. But I guess the Sierra was similar.
I was a underwhelmed at the racing and noted a lack of enthusiasm from fans in the stand as the lead cars crossed the finish line.
I like the concept although think the flare arches a too much.

I was out they yesterday & thought it was ok..

A few points in no order
1) Cars looked good
2) It was nice to see a lot of difference makes & shapes
3) They sounded ****
4) Racing itself; didn't look any better or worse than Supers. For some reason I was expecting better racing here. But we've only had one race
5) It was free (was it meant to be? no one ever asked me to pay at any point!)
6) The donut stall I buy donuts from was closed!! :( :(
7) Moff has the worlds worst luck!

Think GT3 for Touring Cars. Production based, and they do share the engine and suspension package with the road car. Some cars, especially those from the Volkswagen Group, have the road car gearbox.
