Title: 2022 Season
Post by: V8SuperRiley on February 04, 2022, 11:42:56 AM
Who's going to step up now that Feeney is gone?

Zak Best is my pick, the only one who seemed to keep up over the full season, and was only getting stronger as the year went on.

I would have said Ojeda but looks like he's out?

Hard to say how well the new T8 drivers will be, maybe Declan Fraser?
Zak Best or Matt Chahdas year?
How about Payne. He's been talked up a lot.

Matt Charda has been steadily improving. Now that one of the two ex-DJR, ex-MSR Falcons is now going to race at Tickford, they might be able to concentrate resources and cash on a single car. I wonder if they might have a bit of help from Tickford?

Chahda's biggest thing for me is consistency. He has improved pace wise, but still seems to make a few mistakes.

It should be another good year with a big Super 2/Super 3 grid for round 1.

Young Zak Best did well on the weekend, he seemed to have the race pace over most of them, but the thing didn't  hook up as well in Qualifying.

The Triple 8 boys surprised me, they had good speed.

Matt Payne and Tyler Everingham were both speedy as well.
