Title: 2022 V8 Central Fantasy League Media Centre
Post by: TheArrow on February 17, 2022, 06:51:31 PM
Welcome to the 2022 V8CFL Media Centre.

Use this thread for media releases before, during and after events. Announce your drivers for this season, driver swaps throughout the year, celebrate your results, lament the bad days, give insights into how your team is run. Even post rumours or silly-season speculation.

Post your season cars. Post your one-off or round-by-round designs. If your team is supporting a local charity/cause for a certain round or a national day that corresponds with the date of an event, share the special one-off design.

As this is all fantasy, you can be as outrageous and creative as you like in regards to your designs. Your sponsors don't have any say in the designs. It's all up to you!

If your team has changed manufacturer during the off season, or your car has had aerodynamic adjustments, announce it here. Lets bring the fun and fantasy back to this thread.

We all need a bit of fun these days.

Media Centre is now open!

Those without the time, knowledge or skill to create their own liveries are free to contact others in the forum to discuss requesting their expertise.

I don't know about others in the forum but I have templates for a Mustang, ZB, VW Arteon, Toyota 86 (1st gen), Mazda6, Kia Stinger, VF, FG/X, F-Type (3D) and Merc E53 (3D).

KRT reveals updated car, Indigenous theme for 2022
The Kalyara Racing Team has unveiled its 2022 car, showing off the latest Focus ST in Supercars guise. The team began developing the new car during the lockdown of 2021, finalising the build before Christmas and having the aerodynamics package signed off by the V8CFL in January. The front splitter and rear wing have been carried over from the previous RS-based model while the rest of the bodywork is brand new, while some small alterations were made to the chassis.

"We are very excited to be running the new shape Focus this year," said team owner Kye. "It is a shame that we only ran the older RS look for a single season, but the new ST looks so good we just had to get it on the track! The good news is we can also carry this car over into Gen3 next year. Maybe with a new engine; we will see about that."

Another big change will see the team running an Indigenous livery for the season. This blue livery, representing the life of the Yuin people of the south coast of NSW, will be used for the majority of the season, with special designs to be used at selected events. Team owner Kye, whose ancestors came from various language groups of the Yuin Nation, explained the design:

"We have the travel lines and resting places running around the entire waist and hip-line of the car, representing the journey through life. The lower blue half is a nod to daytime life; the people sitting around campsites and the movement of the kangaroo and possum, while the background represents the oceans, beaches and bushland of Yuin country. Meanwhile, the upper black half reflects the nighttime and spiritual side. We have the stars and the orca, an animal with which the coastal tribes worked for thousands of years and one which they saw as a reincarnation of their ancestors."

"Another nice touch is the message on the side skirt; we will be updating this at every event to let the fans know which Indigenous nation lived on the land where each circuit is located."

After only running Ford and Focus RS signage in 2021, this season sees the return of Playstation as a sponsor. The team will promote the Playstation 5 and Gran Turismo 7 with a simulator setup at each event. Foxtel's sports streaming service Kayo has also signed on for the season.

KRT had a very successful 2021, winning five races on its way to third in the championship. The team hopes to improve on that in 2022 and push for the title.

TAA Performance unveils new Ford Performance Mustang

TAA Performance has revealed their new colours they will campaign in the 2022 V8CFL.

Ford Performance returns to the Sydney based team as its major sponsor with a striking new livery after coming onboard with the team mid way through the 2021 season.

"To have Ford as well as the Ford Performance brand onboard with us again this year is fantastic" said team owner Alex

"We debuted our car last year with a relatively new engine combo with our Ecoboost V6 twin turbo engine"

Having over come some initial teething issues both with car and engine, TAA Performance managed to pick up 2 race wins, as well as finish a respectable 5th place in the championship.

"I'm over the moon with last years result, to have a new car and engine and overcoming the issues we did, i couldn't have asked for more" Alex added

The guys at TAA haven't slowed down on engine development, with a number of upgrades to the engine the team have 2 brand new Precision Turbos in the quest for more reliability and performance.

Ford Motorcraft joins Ford Performance again as well as Platinum Partners Precision Turbo & Engine, Holley EFI, Castrol Edge, Haas and Jetpac Dezign for the 2022 season.

Shogun Autosport makes is triumphant return to the V8CFL

After a tumultuous however successful season under the "leadership" of the drop bears , Helix has once again taken the reigns of the team he has built from the ground up, Helix was very happy to be out from under the terrifying presence of the drop bears, being quoted as saying " those bears are lunatics" and " i fear for every time we had an ordinary result as they had a very short fuse".

"Their weakness was however they got eucalyptus drunk often and would leave me to run the team and that's eventually how i regained control" and "they have been relocated out bush away from the population to live out the rest of their lives on leaves and tourists".

As this is essentially a re-birth for Shogun Autosport, new sponsorship has been sourced for our 2022 campaign along with an early introduction of our version of the Gen 3 mustang.

"Support from new title sponsors Bass pro shops and Boost juice bars along with our very valued and long term partners at Snap-on tools, Adidas and House of Kolor, will hopefully bring us more title success" helix was quoted as saying.

Bass pro shops has been a long term sponsor in the American Nascar series and is very excited to be breaking into the supercar scene after witnessing the impact Penske had with his presence and sponsorships in the Australian marketplace.

Boost Juice Bars is a proud Australian retail outlet that specialise in selling fruit juice and smoothies, Boost Juice Bars was formed in 2000 and is proud to be a strong Australian business that in these trying times can step up to show support to Shogun Autosport and have their name shown all across the country.

Helix was extremely happy to be welcoming such different but excellent sponsors on board, Helix was quoted as saying he very much enjoys a berry blast juice and on the river having a quite fish , its a great time had by all.

Along with the prestige of wearing the #1 on the car we are welcoming a whole new driver line-up lead expertly by Chaz Mostert  to take on the 2022 season so without further ado, the 2022 Shogun Autosport liveries that will be run this season.

New sponsor, same great taste.

The team formerly known as the NAPA Racing Team are back, with a completely new look, and some new backers to join the excellent, and hopefully not covid interrupted adventure.

The new look is said to be striking. "It has to be," said team owner CP. "It's covered in lightning strikes, and that seems to be only the word a certain motor racing coffee shop seem to have in their vocabulary when describing these this things".

It's the first in house designed livery for the newly renamed Pepsi Max Racing. "We still have great friendships with out former livery designers, but we've been developing this wonderful software too, where we have 3D models to design on, so I thought we'd help advertise it and show what we can do. It's actually being bought off us by Sony and features in their new Gran Turismo game, so that's pretty cool."

Pepsi Max Racing would like to thank Pepsi Max, NAPA Auto Parts, Castrol, New Holland, Ford, 3M, Puma Motorsport and Kenworth for their valued support for 2022.

We will see you next weekend, at a place that isn't Newcastle, and hopefully a place we won't spend a month at. Hopefully.

ANNOUNCEMENT PENDING
The deadline for an announcement regarding the future of The Arrow Mazda Motorsport is looming as the first round of the 2022 V8 Central Fantasy League draws closer.

It was rumoured in late 2021 that the factory backed Mazda team would be withdrawing from the V8CFL championship at seasons end. To date, no confirmation of that has been made, causing rumours and speculation to swirl through the paddock.

It was announced that 2021 would be Mazda's last season is IMSA and it was strongly believed the same fate would befall the Darkinjung/Central Coast based squad. When pressed on this subject at the 2021 Bathurst 1000, team principal TheArrow dodged questions. This avoidance did nothing to quell the fears from many fans for the team that has been a mainstay of the many iterations of the V8CFL.

As a team dating back to the inaugural season in 2008, the Central Coast team has seen many guises, names, manufacturer and model changes. The 2008 Privateers Cup winner raced a BF Falcon in 2008, followed by a number of FG Falcons in the following years - even controversially switching to a Ford Mondeo before the new model was even on sale in Australia - prior to the original V8CFL folding in 2013.

In 2015 the team made a shock switch and since then the one-time Tournament winning crew has raced GJ/GL Mazda6 sedans. The seven seasons spent racing Mazdas has seen little success outside of the 2017 season where the squad fought hard for the championship, ultimately finishing a strong runner-up. However in early 2021, all records of previous V8CFL results were lost. Few were recovered, limiting the true knowledge of the success - or lack thereof - of the team.

A number of sporadic race wins have shown glimpses of what is possible for the team that constantly falls short of expectations.

It was initially speculated, as early as 2020 that the 2022 season would see The Arrow Mazda Motorsport run the new Mazda6 originally due for release in 2021. However this has been pushed back to as late as 2023. Talking at the 2021 Bathurst 1000, TheArrow discussed the issue of the outlay of designing a new car that is not guaranteed to succeed on track.

"Gen3 is only a year away. The new Mazda6 is likely a year away too. But it's a big expense to undertake if it ends up with the same results we have now."

An announcement on the teams 2022 plans - whether that be a withdrawal or entering the season - is expected to be made in the coming days. Time is running out to confirm if the iconic number 57 will run this season, though, with the new season kicking off in one weeks time.

Skaife to Shakedown the Fantasy League

A surprise visit from Mark Skaife saw Ain't Care Motorsports steal the show at the Wakefield Park test day today.
Skaife was caught shaking down a brand new #2 Commodore in white Mobil colours, providing a glimpse at the 2022 livery.
He was able to provide vital feedback in what is the final year of Car of the Future - the very ruleset he had a heavy hand in.

Some teams suggested that Skaife wasn't allowed to suit up in the car, whilst team owner Daniel suggested "there isn't a rule to say he can't."
Fantasy tsar, Mike, has yet to comment on the rule clarification, he is a day behind over in the US afterall.
It's suggested it'll be given the green light with no sanctions, as the very words he lives by are written in the supplementary regs:
Rule A1.1 (a) (i) Without Fantasy, Life is Simply Life. We wouldn't want this season to be boring!

This will see the final season in which the ZB Commodore's will be used before they find themselves out of the GM warranty campaign largly lost on the Australian public.
This is thought to be the very last Australian built car with a Holden badge on it, unless another team build a new car with significant investment. Which is reasonable. In a fantasy league.

Skaife managed to top the session, as the only car on track. The team were also issued a noise complaint from those who decided to move next to a race track and not consider the existing environment they were moving to.
The opening round of the Championship will see the cars hit the fanciful track at Sydney Motorsport Park on March 4-6.

K-Miesta Motorsport joins the V8 Central Fantasy League

In what is being touted as the best kept secret in motorsport in 2022, K-Miesta Motorsport has today announced it will be competing in it's first season of the V8CFL. Little is known about the deal that has been put together at such late notice, but what can be confirmed is that K-Miesta Motorsport will be sporting a slightly used, yet still competitive Holden VF Commodore for the season ahead.

The striking, yet sponsor-less livery that has been drawn up using the Sim Racing Service, iRacing, has a similar feel to it as the 2012 Tekno Autosports Commodores, who at that time sported plain white VE Commodores in Round 1 of that years championship due to the lack of sponsors that were willing to pay naming rights at the time. There has been plenty of speculation this morning about the reasons for the lack of sponsors on the cars, but sources close to the team state that it is nothing to worry about and the financial stability of the team is strong moving forwards.

We reached out to the team principal of K-Miesta Motorsport Kennymiesta this morning for a little insight into the preparation that took place and the reasons as to why the announcement has only come less than a week out from the start of the Supercars season.

QuoteThe reason for the late announcement is purely due to lack of preparation. I saw the posts go up quite some time ago and just didn't get around to reading them. I really have mikeamerica84 to thank for getting everything across the line. If it wasn't for the messaqe in my inbox, we would have most likely missed Round 1 all together.

QuoteWe are excited for the year ahead. I've had some success in Go Karting and not much success in Simulator Racing. It is going to be quite different from the other side of the fence trying to guess who is going to finish where. I couldn't win a Chook in a Pub raffle, so when it comes to luck of the draw, I don't hold my head up high. All I can say is I'm going to use all my strategy and skill to study, assess and ascertain who is going to finish where. Knowing my luck, every car I pick will probably get a bad batch of fuel and DNF.

We are yet to have an official announcement as to who will drive the car, but due to the late announcement of the team, we suspect that Kennymiesta will pull a Jonothan Webb and drive the car himself until the team is able to find a suitable replacement. When asked this question, we were simply given a "no comment".

Another notable topic which came from the announcement was the decision to run the older VF Commodore as opposed to the newer ZB Commodore. This is what Kennymiesta had to say:

QuoteMate, iRacing wanted to charge me $14.95 for the ZB, but I could get the VF for $2.95. That means I got a car and I can still afford a Zinger Box for dinner tonight.

Cars will be on track from Friday for practice, before the first of two races on Saturday evening.

BREAKING NEWS:
Eleventh Hour Inclusion in 2022 V8 Central Fantasy League

Mere days out from the opening round of 2022 V8 Central Fantasy League season, it has finally been revealed that The Arrow Mazda Motorsport will contest the 2022 season.

In a tense off season and build up it seemed almost inevitable that the team would fold and not continue after season difficult seasons with Mazda. When Mazda announced they were withdrawing from IMSA at the end of 2021 it put the future of the factory backed Supercars team in jeopardy. This was compounded by another difficult season with limited competitive results.

However tonight as teams and personnel begin arriving at Sydney Motorsport Park for the opening round, The Arrow Mazda Motorsport has announced they will race in 2022 and revealed the liveries to be used through the season.

The team will run with a variety of schemes throughout the season including rotating sponsors and one off special designs.

The base livery used for the majority of the season is a simple two tone with white accents and a strong 'archer' graphic.

"I feel like its akin to the Ford Performance Racing and Holden Racing Team schemes of the 90s and 2000s with the Falcon or Lion/Helmet graphic on the side." commented TheArrow.

"It really ties in the name of the team which we've not done before.

"We have a few variations we'll run through the season. We'll be running this one here at Sydney Motorsport Park and Newcastle, and then we wont see it again until Bathurst and the Gold Coast. We've got another sponsor lined up for Symmons Plains, the Melbourne Grand Prix and The Bend which we will reveal at a later time. It will run with the same base design as this one. Then we have a revised version for Barbagallo and Winton."

With the series again visiting "the top end", The Arrow Mazda Motorsport will also run an Indigenous themed design in Darwin and Townsville.

"We've got a retro livery lined up for Sandown even though its no longer recognised as 'Retro Round'. Its one we've run before but Mazda doesn't have that rich of a heritage in Australian Touring Car Racing to dive into. We also have a special one-off for Pukekohe as well."

When asked how the team had so many designs prepared when it seemed so likely they were folding, TheArrow was blunt.

"It was a tense off season. Extremely difficult for us as a squad. The uncertainty of our future was hard to cope with. The closer we got to the opening round, the more we started looking at alternatives. We looked at Mustangs at one point. We even considered running in TCR this season.

"It got really tight when it was so close to the season starting and we still didn't know for sure if we were even going to be racing. We essentially just kept working as if we were and hoped for the best."

With 2022 being the final season for the current generation Supercars, it is yet to be confirmed if The Arrow Mazda Motorsport will continue in 2023 under the new Gen3 regulations. The Japanese manufacturer may find it the perfect opportunity to end the relationship with the Central Coast based team.

Whether the team is given enough notice to change manufacturer will be worth watching. The team has a strong connection with Ford having raced them in the past, although not Mustangs. The team also has connections with Jaguar, Volkswagen and Kia. However it is equally plausible the team may run the to-be-revealed next generation Mazda6, based on an I6 RWD platform and may take this opportunity to bring an inline 6 engine to the V8CFL.
PS don't look too closely at the 3D livery. I haven't done 3D in a number of years so the more you look at it the worse it seems  ;D

Bridesmaids No More

A shake-up at the top of the Ain't Care Motorsport's late last year almost saw the longtime outfit steal the 2021 V8 Central Fantasy League Championship.
Champion-elect Shane van Gisbergen was sacked from the squad in a move that saw experience favoured at the Bathurst finale.
Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes steered the team along with sister-car Chaz Mostert and Lee Holdsworth to the teams first Bathurst 1000 victory since it's Privateer Cup attempt back in 2012.

Following this drastic decision and the immediate success that followed, van Gisbergen will again sit out of the top running team.
Instead, he'll be playing a vital role in the teams strategy department - trying to pick what position he will finish each race.

Mobil 1 will again hold naming rights sponsorship, continuing the honeymoon between Mobil and GM Speciality Vehicles with support from the Walkinshaw technical department.
The driving side has seen some continuation with Chaz Mostert leading the squad. De Pasquale and Percat are also retained with Brown, Slade, Pye, Heimgartner and Randle new to the team.

After the test day glimpse, driven by Mark Skaife, the team can now unveil their 2022 colours, drawing inspiration from Mobil's 1998 Porsche GT1 Le Mans entry.
A complete carry over of sponsorship from last season see's an evolution of last year's livery from an edgy design to a more flowing one.

The cars are set to hit the track this weekend, with Practice 1 of the Beaurepairs Sydney SuperNight starting at 3:15pm on tomorrow.

R&K Motorsports
Jack Smith's 2022 debut a success!

Gorokan, NSW - After a fulfilling off-season wherein the R&K Motorsports crew has regrouped with Jack Smith as their 2022 driver, the season got off to quite a successful start at Sydney Motorsports Park this past weekend.  The team took a Race 1 podium (third place) and at the end of the weekend was sitting in third place on the table.

The new Coors Light Mustang looked awesome in both the sun and rain.

The 2022 Silver Bullet
Team Principal Mike explained the new 2022 alignment:

"We thought we'd give Jacko another shot at piloting our car.  He performed fairly well a few years ago but with the pandemic, rescheduled races, and his haircut, there was still a lot left on the table come season's end.

"Coors Light Beer has come aboard to match Kingsford Charcoal.  Nothing like a good backyard grill party with those two sponsors.  And our old friends from Federated Auto Parts have also opted to stay with us for another go."

The usually reserved Smith then commented on his 2022 expectations:

"I think if i can master turning left at the lefthanders and turning right at the righthanders, it will be a successful season.  I am grateful that Mike and the blokes here at R&K are giving me this shot."

When asked about his Round 1 performance and third on the table, Jack responded, "This is unchartered territory for me, mate!  In fact, I am feeling a little altitude sickness right now."

With his trademark hair grown long again, Smith's fan base has been growing steadily.  Last weekend the team even had a Jack Smith look-a-like contest in the paddock.  Our three finalists:

(https://i.postimg.cc/9FZR00CZ/Blonde-2.jpg) (https://i.postimg.cc/CMWnwkTw/Blonde-3.jpg) (https://i.postimg.cc/sgzBhzg8/Blonde-4.jpg)
Votes are still being tallied as the contest is currently neck and neck between these three fans.  It is not too late to submit your vote!

Meantime throughout the land, the barbys were in full blaze with Kingsford providing the heat.

This bloke went retro with his early 60s flat grill.  His girl was quite impressed.

This old timer was making sure his grandson knew the proper way to smoke meat.

Some R&K diehard fans were short on stock due to the current supply chain issues

But it is good to see fellow R&K fans came to the lady's rescue!  One cannot watch Jack without some booze in them!

R&K Motorsports
Massive Success at Albert Park!

Gorokan, NSW - R&K Motorsports went into the AGP with high hopes.  When the weekend was all done, those hopes turned into reality as young Jack Smith brought the Coors Light Mustang home with two third place finishes, a second place finish, and a Race 4 win.

"This is one of our most shining moments," reflected Team Principal Mike.  "Everything seemed to fall our way and Jack has never been so confident in his racing career."

He continued, "Jack usually scores a race as a success when he FINISHES.  Finishing on the LEAD LAP is a bonus when it happens.  But now.... three podiums and a WIN.... He is flying higher than a kite right now.  That was our 23rd win in the V8CFL."

The weekend results also boosted R&K Motorsports to the top of the table.

"We are there now, but there is a LOOOOOOOONG way to go," concluded Mike.

Meanwhile, a rookie Stan Sports reporter, covering his first motorsport event went looking for Jack to get a solid interview and expert opinions from him.

"Hi!  Mick Trickey, here, reporting live for Stan Sport from Melbourne at the AGP!  To continue with Stan Sports quality coverage of the round, let's go find Jack Smith and get his expert insight on the round and results!  I am so excited to meet a driver of his caliber!"

"Where is he....?  Oh!  That looks like him over there!  I recognize his hair from a picture."

"Jack!  How does it feel to have the weekend results you achieved?"

"What results?  I just showed up here and every guy was buying me free drinks.  Unless you have a fat wallet, I suggest you hit the road, you bottom feeder."

Mick continued on, realizing that may not have been Jack.

"Oh!  This is him for SURE!"

"Jack-O!  It's a pleasure to meet you!  Tell us the whole story behind your weekend success!"

"Jack?  Jack?  Hell-OOOOOO...!  Anyone HOME?"

A fan then yelled to Mick that Jack was over THERE (to his left).

"Hey, Jack!  How's the weekend been, mate?"

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...."

Mick immediately moved on in fear of his safety.

"Jack Smith?"

"Nooouuu.  Jackie Stewart, son.  You have any racing questions?"

"No.  I am new here looking for Jack Smith.  You know -  a real race driver.  Thanks, though, Scotty."

"Jack!  I finally found you!  Tell us about Race 4."

"Jack?  Jack?  Why the weird hat, Jack?  Huh?  Did you say something?  Damn.  Another wrong Jack.  What a one-dimensional bloke.  Wait..... is that him over there?"

"This HAS to be him!"

"Jack?  I thought you were a lot taller?  Aw geez.  These people are screwing with me.  Hell.... I quit.  This network crap sucks."

Despite the slight pit garage reporting shortcomings, R&K fans were celebrating the round:

"Come on, JACK!  Bring it HOME!"

"I can hardly hold back my emotions watching that boy race while I drink Coors Light!"

"This is soooooooo COOL!"

"Jack wins the race and moves atop the ladder.  We win with Kingsford Charcoal and soon move over to that recliner chair behind us!"

"Nothing like a hot Kingsford grill, a good round result, and hot retro brunettes drinking for a good time!"

"Jack won this weekend.  I love you.  Will you marry me?"

"No.  You are using cheap charcoal - not Kingsford.  I can do better, thank you."

Well, there you have it race fans.  A happy weekend for most, but not all.  We'll see you all in WA in a few weeks.

Tweaked Design for Iconic Team

The Arrow Mazda Motorsport has revealed another of the tweaked liveries announced at the team launch.

To be run at the Perth SuperNight and the Winton SuperSprint, the design bearing the team logo is essentially a straight swap between the black and the white on the standard livery revealed at the start of the season.

"We think it'll stand out better on track in the dark." said TheArrow.

"We love the black base design but we thought it would be nice to go for a brighter car for this event and the next.

"The white brings a whole new vibe. Maybe I'll have to change the plan and run it for the rest of the season."

The team will again shift the design for the following two events to align with the Indigenous Round at Hidden Valley, which they will carry over to Townsville. The Bend event will revert to the same design used at Tasmania and The AGP. Another new design will be used for Sandown, followed by a sixth new design for Pukekohe.

Bathurst and the Gold Coast will see the original livery used for Sydney Motorsport Park return. If Newcastle returns, it is believed that same design will be seen there, too.

The future of The Arrow Motorsport is still in the air regarding their 2023 racing chariots. The team is running a race car whose underpinnings date back to 2015, and whose road-going variant dates back to the early 2010s. It is no secret the car is old and an update is well overdue. With Gen-3 around the corner, time is running out for a new car to be homologated and enter the series in 2023 in a competitive nature.

Rumours of a RWD Mazda6 have proved fruitless at this stage, however there are renewed talks for a new, rotary powered car that could bring the iconic rotary back to top level Australian motorsport since Allan Moffat in the early 1980s. Moffat won three Australian Touring Car Championship titles and finished 3rd in another with only one season in the Mazda finishing outside the top 5.

The same cannot be said for the current factory supported Mazda team.

R&K Motorsports
Heading North!

Gorokan, NSW - Now sitting in fourth on the table, a mere 68 markers off of the top rung, R&K Motorsports heads North to Hidden Valley with the rest of the V8 Central Fantasy League traveling circus.  The team has had quite a bit of success there over the years, and hope to continue after making a few adjustments on their car.

"Yeah, we found we needed to make a tweak here and a twist there to pick up the car's balance," stated driver Jack Smith.  "I really like Hidden Valley.  Half the fun is the drive UP there and seeing all of the terrain in the middle of the country."

"I'd rather fly, to tell you the truth," countered Team Principal Mike.  "Although, with these new self driving cars, start her up in Gorokan, set the computer, take a day's nap and waking up in Darwin doesn't sound too bad.  Probably a hell of lot safer than riding with Jack."

In the meantime, R&K Motorsports Coors Light/Kingsford Charcoal/Federated Auto Parts Ford Mustang fans across the globe are gearing up for the big three race round up top.

"We're leaving WA and headed across the outback.  We are camping overnight in Wittenoom.  Plenty of space there to camp we here."

"I'll be watching from by the lake here in Chicago.  I weigh 300 lbs.
I hear the more of this light beer I drink, the more the weight will fall off of me.
By the time the weekend is over, I ought to look like a Kenyan distance runner."

"I am taste testing Coors Light versus Coors original.  I'll let you know my final evaluations after the round when Jack cleans up at Hidden Valley."

In this day of gender identity getting front page news, we have no idea what we have here.  We are just glad it is adorned in the sponsor's logos.

Meanwhile, back at the homesteads, the grills will be fulling ablaze as Jack tries to move up the table:

"Just pass me one, hon.  I don't have any pants on.  Thanks.  I'll be out later."

Always remember, race fans:

THE ARROW MAZDA MOTORSPORT UNVEILS MEANINGFUL INDIGENOUS ROUND LIVERY

The Arrow Mazda Motorsport has revealed their Indigenous Round livery hours out from the opening practice session.

Collaborating with a local Central Coast based Indigenous artist and the team owner himself, the design portrays the personal family experience of TheArrow and his Indigenous heritage.

"It's a deeply personal design and I'm extremely proud of the result. I think it looks incredible." said TheArrow.

"Some might think it looks messy or that the lines look rough. We've seen plenty that are really smooth and look almost too perfect. We felt the approach we've taken is a little more authentic."

The design depicts the broad heritage of the family, who originate from Gallangabang country near what is now known as Wellington in western New South Wales, and Biripi country - now known as Taree - also in New South Wales. The livery features reds and oranges and other earthy tones, illustrating the landscape in that part of the country.

Representing the figurative migration of the family to the coastal region in Darkinjung country,  the doors feature several traditional Indigenous symbols including campsites and travel lines to a watering hole. All of this culminates with a campsite symbol on the rear quarter panel covered in various blue hues, depicting the final destination on the coast.

Notably the archer symbol that is regularly seen on the side of the car has been replaced by a silhouette of an Indigenous man holding a spear.

It is understood this livery will be used for the Townsville event following Indigenous Round, as announced at the team launch earlier this year.

Arrow Productions, who is the joint title sponsor alongside Mazda, has sacrificed the doors for the next two events to adequately showcase the importance of recognising our heritage.

TheArrow's family has history with recognising their heritage.

"My parents ran a very successful Indigenous instrument business in the early 2000s. Especially around the time of the Sydney Olympics. Some quite famous celebrities have some authentic Indigenous instruments, including Dolly Parton.

"My sister has had her art displayed in galleries too, so we're not new to displaying our heritage."

The Arrow Mazda Motorsport will be hoping this new livery will bring good form for the team that currently has the most race wins of the 2022 season.

Down to Sandown we go from NSW!

Gorokan, NSW - Heading down to Sandown for Round 9 of the 2022 V8 Central Fantasy League season, the camp founded by the Yank currently sits on the fifth rung of the ladder, slightly more than 100 points off of the lead.  The team notched their 25th win of their history last round in Race 1 at Tailem Bend.

"In all honesty," said driver Jack Smith, "If we can leave Victoria in fourth place that would be great.  That is our goal.  We are going to try and scratch our way up."

To do so the team has to get past the upstart rookie team of K-Miesta Motorsport.

Team Principal Mike then revealed the Sandown livery.  The Ford Mustang will be fully covered with a Kingsford bag livery
in a one-off design by their good friend, and defending V8CFL Champion, Helix:

2022 V8CFL Champions!

Gorokan, NSW – The 2022 V8 Central Fantasy League season has come to a close and a surprised R&K Motorsports camp wound up at the top of the heap in the end.  Team Principal Mike spoke for the crew:

"We are all elated to have won this year!  We have tried many times but came up short.  This is our first championship, barring being Enduro Champs with Ain't Care Motorsports a few years back.

"We owe it all to the team and our driver, The Great Jack Smith!"

Applause and cheers were heard throughout the building when Jack took the mic.

"I am STOKED right now!  I have to thank Mike for giving me this opportunity to drive in the V8CFL!  He stuck with me through thick and thin when others has thrown me on the scrap heap because of my family's money.  I am looking for a long term relationship with these Yanks!"
