I would be one who calls himself a 'man of the peace'... but I also understand that sometimes the opposition to peace needs to be dealt with and I am grateful to those who have the, I'll call it ability, to do that.

Consider for a moment the attacked folk (whoever they may be). Obviously they would hate the attacker, they have caused them pain. But if those who can help find the way to peace stand back and say 'you're on your own' then the attacked will now have 2 groups to hate because the 'good folk' did nothing.

It must be one of the toughest roads to walk and I will always be grateful to have not seen conflict first hand.

Touring Crash Masters was real ugly this weekend (heard a little about it while I was up at Winton and just had a look).

Too many cars with damage, too many driver errors, plus no doubt just some bad luck (along with good, how was that run down the grass on the back straight after the big crash??!!)

The cars may well be a fan favourite (and it is one of mine) but this weekend was not a good look for them.

if Piastri manages to stay up in the top few the next few rounds he has to be in with a bloody good shot at the title even if the competition comes on strong in the 2nd half.

perhaps having the last race of the season at Macau is the opportunity to sell the cars/leave them over there at the end of the event?

there is 'misleading' and just 'totally missing it'.

I checked in a few hours after closing and was floored to see Lab with more than double Lib and, even combined, more than every other seat available.

as much as I can't stand Lab either (and were hoping for them to be ousted even with the 2nd rate offering from the Libs) at least they are on their own 2 feet and not beholden to minority parties.

Lab. This is your time. they better shine and do something worthwhile

Quote from: Trevor on May 01, 2025, 05:55:34 AMMorrison, in my living memory is by far the worst ever

We're heading off today touring with the van for 8 weeks, we have voted already, I reckon I will wake Sunday morning to a Labor Government and to the news that Mr Potato head has resigned

didn't need to wait with the result coming through before bedtime (one of the earliest that I can recall??) and 'Mr Potato Head' got ousted from his own seat.

time to vote in a new puppet

Hopefully we'll have some good celebrations at the various Historic race meets (I don't recall one at Island Classic but we still have Historic Winton and Sandown to come)

Never had a blue badge vehicle myself. Started with a Datto, then 99% of my cars have been Holden with 2 Nissans, a Morris (bought from my grandfather), and now my current vehicle has switched allegiance to Mazda.

Helped a mate work on his when I was younger and getting into cars and just found the big Ford's engine bays were hopelessly setup compared to the GM product so when I was offered one that's what I went for.

Quote from: stevo qld on April 29, 2025, 10:29:04 AMGee! These guys are tough.
Disqualified for one loose bolt when the other 17 were apparently OK.

that, to me, is a serious crock of $%^&*(!!

do they now go to every car with a torque wrench and check every nut and bolt to make sure spec is correct? cars are hit and shaken to within an inch of their life and 1 loose bolt gets you disqualified?

Quote from: mikeamerica84 on April 26, 2025, 12:31:02 PMI spied nothing that looked like a Sonic in Victory Lane, my friend, but thoroughly enjoyed the race when it wasn't under yellow.  Lots of tyre issues, but one has to factor in camber vice the tyres themselves.

What happened to the 20 Mazda?  I thought it blew up the power plant but it finished.

nope, sadly did not finish. leading easily and, unfortunately, it seems something flicked into the oil cooler. parked it as soon as it was noticed and we got trayed down from the top of the mountain. they discovered the leak and spent ages to fix it (replacing radiator and cooler I think) and it was running so they sent it back out with the goal to do a lap and then complete our final mandated pit stop, then park it for a bit and go out with 5 mins to go so we could be classified as we would have been able to come away with 3rd place but the damage was more severe than thought and it didn't make it around. we were a DNF :'(

keep an eye on the vision from after the chequer when they switch to pitlane for the interviews... pink vest, number 19

Believe the 3 hour limit you mention is for a single stint. so you could have the opening driver do a 2hr stint, middle driver do 2hr 55min, and then driver 1 gets back in to the end (as an example)

very tiring. hard fought. disappointing first 2 days with the continual reds/SC's. gotta admit I am pissed off too about the podium presentations. for whatever reason it wasn't coming together upstairs and it appeared pretty poor to the point that the crowd that was there was not happy. and then, adding insult, Bathurst council have still not bothered to put any lights on the podium at all (and even the 2 little ones that are there were not turned on) so almost every deserving winner received their trophies in the dark. piss poor indeed :'( most disrespectful.

Weather looks fair at this stage. Too bad day light saving has just ended so race will end close to sunset.

no way they could have possibly known daylight savings was about to end... they could have scheduled it a week or so earlier if they had known...
Are we saying we might get cut short in lap count?
Not sure if that was a sarcastic comment from Sonic?
From my calculation the race will finish about 45 min- 1 hour before sunset actually, not as bad as I thought.

HAHA!! Yup sure was MF!

But I am sure they can find a way to cut it short still...
